Can't comment on what they've said about the managers of other clubs because I don't know enough about them and frankly couldn't give a toss but as far as our own manager goes I think they've got it spot on.

glass half full Nigel Clough deserves an honourable mention for keeping Burton in the Championship on limited resources.

Definitely. Also achieved previously with them by getting them into the league. Not been a slouch at Sheff Utd or Derby either, seems to be consistently reliable wherever he goes and produces teams capable of challenging or over-achieving.

No support from the board, I believe.

Loyalty has bred loyalty at Burton.

I'm just recalling something about the players not liking him and losing to Forest in the cup?

Yup. They would, of course, be contributory factors. His Dad did not court popularity with players (Leeds, for example...)

Nameless I judge Redknapp on the basis that few fans of club's he has managed seem to speak highly of him . My impression is he is a wheeler dealer rather than a manager.
I read his autobiography 'Arry and there is a wheeling dealing story of how he signed a player from us on the cheap by tapping someone at our club up for a job at West Ham or wherever he was at the time.

Barnsley, Burton and Preston managers could all realistically have had a shout.

From Despair To Where? FourFourTwo is just an unashamedly piss poor rag.

Who shall we put on the cover this month? Messi, Ronaldo or Messi and Ronaldo?

FourFourTwo, brought to you by Nivea For Men, the Tim Lovejoy of football magazines.

Nivea and Liverpool FC....which marketing clown came up with that?

When Saturday Comes is still the best "magazine" now I'm too old for Match and Shoot's defunct.

Backpass is a good read though - if you can find a copy.
