Apparently, according to Twitter, deal very close to complete for the Sunderland keeper.

My Sunderland supporting friend also confirms this is close to being a done deal

Could be worse.

His wages wouldn't be cheap.

I like the work he did with Bradley Lowery. Proper gent.

Why would Sunderland want rid though? They're skint and have just sold Pickford.

Thought he would be a safe bet for them this year.

Either way he was a regular for Sunderland in the Prem until last season. Can't be bad.

Sunderland forum delighted he's going but wouldn't be the first time sleep signed a keeper the opposition wanted rid of but turned out brilliant. Marcus.

So what's wrong with him according to Sunderland's fans then?

Need a keeper who doesnt panic when the idiots in front of him give him hospital balls to deal with.

Interesting

He's quite a decent keeper from what I have seen, but prone to the odd horror show. Pretty much like the rest of our defence last season

Watch this 3 minute video. If you're too lazy, start it at 1 minute. This was sent to me by a Sunderland fan and said that this sums him up.

He obviously won't be this bad or else he wouldn't have spent so long in the PL. I'm much happier with him than I would've been with Button.

Thanks for that, could be quite scary based on that but then, as you say, if you're a regular in the PL you cant be that bad all the time

Also still seeing reports Reading are in for Button but presuming that has actually fallen flat now.

Various things suggesting Fulham asking stupid money for Button, hence why we are in for Mannone

Mannone won their player of the year a few years back, so clearly has some quality

That was painful I had to stop after 2 minutes.

Wasn't he at fault for like all of the goals when Southampton put 8 past them a couple of seasons ago?
