Been there done that for far too many years... The club, the team, need to Inspire me with both signings and their style of play (attacking) before a spend anymore money.

It wasn’t a great opener for us although I’m hoping Jaap will use this to state his case to the owners/CEO regarding strengthening the squad. But Jaap did seem surprised how shite we were in the BBCRB post-match interview which worried me. It’s not looking good right now

The pre season games did not prepare us for today at all and what is galling is we've lost easily to a bottom 6 side with a league one attack

Everybody looked off the pace. Which isn't surprising given the shambles of a pre-season

Blackett in particular was very poor

Has there been any explanation as to why it's been such a shambles? I was hoping we'd been playing loads of pre-season games in secret but on today's viewing it looks like we have genuinely just done oxf*rd all over summer.

Stam should not pass the buck to chinese not making funds available for new players. His plan B was to have a decent/large enough squad starting the season rather than getting rid of so many players without a thought to injuries, replacements of players leaving........etc

Hopefully he will remedy this in the coming week(s)

Don’t hold your breath. Stam’s now tied to this club and its policies as much as we are

I went to the Vitesse Arnhem game, and we played it like it was our first friendly of the pre-season, rather than our last. And I suppose when you think about it, that's because it was. It was the only game we played with the whole first team playing.

It doesn't help that none of our next four league games - maybe five if Bristol City's performance today is an indicator - look obvious candidates for a first win of the season. It could be a painful start to the season.
