Current Update :

  1. Joey van den Berg has rejoined training and may well be on the bench on Saturday
  2. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is expected back in training today so could make the bench at Birmingham
  3. Callum Harriott should return in September
  4. Liam Kelly's injury is a dead leg and so could be back for the trip to Birmingham
  5. Yann Kermorgant is likely to be missing for another 7 weeks or so as a minimum
  6. Jordan Obita has not yet returned to training but should be back in early September
  7. Omar Richards no update
  8. John Swift has a hamstring injury and is expected to be out for the next month
  9. Tennai Watson still December

Believe all other players are currently fit.

McCleary looked well off the pace at times last night.

Quinn was a welcome return.

Thanks for this update Sutekh. Shame about Swift as he just seemed to be finding a bit of form and confidence again.

McCleary is shagged. Dont think he'll manage an extended stint for us again.

McCleary has had an op over the summer and has had no preseason whatsoever so it's hardly surprising he's not quite consristently "with it" as yet.

That's what biff hopes.
Had two ops in fact and had done nought in terms of fitness until a couple of weeks ago but some won't acknowledge this though.
Kerm won't be shagged so why would McCleary.

Reading FC
Jordan Obita is already training with the squad – his ankle is feeling a lot better, so he’s not far off joining the squad,” said Royals gaffer Jaap Stam. “He’s had a couple of good training sessions already.

“Yann Kermorgant is still out for quite a few weeks because of the operation that he had.

“Callum Harriott is also training with the squad – not every training sessions just yet, but like yesterday he did a full session with the team which is good. We need to build him up carefully and not do too much too soon as he could end up injured again; we don’t want that.

“John Swift is feeling good as well and he’s starting to train outside at the end of this week, so that’s looking very good as well.”

I havent got a personal vendetta against the bloke. He's been injured on and off for a few seasons now, with his back being just about managed by the end of last year. He's just the wrong side of 30 and not getting any quicker.

LUckily we don't need him to do an extended stint. By ensuring we've got plenty of choice out wide Jaap can give McCleary plenty of rest. A fit McCleary playing 25 games is well worth having, especially if you get Barrow playing the other 25 !

Obita and Harriott back in training though Harriott has a bit of pre-season work to make up before being involved.

Believe Swift has also been in some training sessions this week so fingers crossed Jaap has more options open to him at Brentford

Oh and Mendes has apparently done his knee which is why he wasn't in the team photo on Wednesday. Think we should nickname him Sturridge or something.

Barrow has twisted his knee and is out 'for ten more days or so' according to Stam.

John Swift now has another hamstring problem but is not thought to be serious so could be available Saturday

Jordan Obita will face a lengthy spell on the sidelines but there is no information about exactly what the injury is nor anything more precise on duration away from the game

But there is a glimmer of good news in that Mo Barrow may feature in the squad on Saturday

So where is Quinn?
Does his urgency and desire to go forward conflict with JS that he is not even on the bench?

Is that just from JLow? Sounded very much like that was just him piecing minor bits of info together.

Think Swift is out for Norwich, will be back for the next game. Barrow should be back

Anyone heard anything at all on Obita? Complete void of info. I think JLow just recycled Stam's comment from immediately after the Hull game

Obviously Obita out for the season is terrible news. Does anybody have a reliable, updated injury list? Any updates in particular on Yann and is Quinn currently injured? I've rather lost track of them all

Latest as I know it.

Obita - out for season
Watson - out to December is all I've heard.
Quinn - injured again. To be honest I think he'll probably retire as it seems to be a case of breaking down again every time he gets near.
Mendes - believe he's had an op on his knee and is a way off playing yet.
Kermorgant - 2/3 weeks away
Swift - has hamstring problems, shouldn't be out longboat not likely to make Saturday

Anyone else know of other issues? Believe everyone else is fit enough to be involved with the first team squad (but there's bound to be someone obvious I've missed)

Harriott hamstring gone again. Guessing at least a couple of weeks from being considered

I think we’ll cut our losses with Quinn and Mendes fairly shortly. Stam clearly not a big fan of Quinn anyway
