Awful display. Stam's joke subs didn't help.

Defensive suicide yes, but it's our fault for only scoring 1 goal in 82 minutes against 10 men. Very poor

That was awful

Needed to step up in the summer by adding 2/3 quality signings but sadly we're still waiting for that

Not direct or quick enough

Reading will struggle this season without some tweaks to the playing style

And Berg was just embarrassing

Why do we always struggle so badly against 10 men? My heart sank when Fulham had a sending off

And Swift needs to seriously up his game

Swift needs to be dropped ..hes wasteful and gives away possession too often...hopefully a bit of time out will give him a chance to rediscover the form he showed when he first joined..shouldnt be surprised as Brentford fans said he went exactly the same way when on loan with them...no doubt talented but rarely showing it for some time now

If ever there was a game of two incidents. Crazy red card that killed the game and made it an inevitable Reading win. And the a horrendous soft pass that put Fulham in to equalise.

People will have argued we should have killed the game off, but we were 100% in control at 1-0. But for that pass it would have been one of the most comfortable 1-0s you'll ever see. Only a moment of total suicide could (and did) deprive us of 3 points.

There's basically nothing you can take from that game. It was so ruined by the ref it tells us nothing.

He's so much of a non-entity I just didn't care.

TBH with the injuries we have etc would have happily taken 1-1 before the game

Disappointing in the circumstances but a point against the favourites at the end of the day

NewCorkSeth Ok no lie I think we may have JvdB to thank for that goal. He stuck to his man in our half niggling away at him, forced a sloppy pass with led to that counter attack.

JvdB was a big part of that goal. He also played a first touch pass out in the build up that emphasised the need to move the ball quicker rather than take the safe touch and then look.

Completely agree. Its hard to say much about our progress going forward from that match. Our tactics were not up to scratch after they went a man down. I imagine we played much the same way we would have if they had 11 men with the only difference being our defenders had next to nothing to do for the first half.
The ref was shocking. It shouldnt have been a red card imo and he was inconsistent throughout.

We're so 1 paced it embarrassing. Over achievement last season. We will be found out this one. When are we going to get the attacking football Stam promised when he got the job? I'll give him 2 months to sort it out before he's shown the door. Hopefully we will sign a couple of strikers by then.

Bollox to that. Let's just sack him now and be done with it

Bring back McD. Or Clarke is available I hear

I find this view very strange. But for one individual mistake that no manager can legislate for, that was a cast iron three points to Stam.

Had Stam known Kalas would get sent off in the first minute, I expect he'd have played a different team and shape. But it's quite hard to change mid-game and we always looked like wearing them down and sneaking one in somewhere anyway.

By the time they equalise there's really nothing you can do fromthe touchline.

Don't anybody remember how it was last season our goals against was the problem. Our defenders are more or less the same as last season. It can't be shocking to anyone how we are playing. Invest in defenders who defend, specialist midfield, out and out strikers hard working people are effective in restaurants they don't guarantee to win games of football.

A mistake by a midfielder leads to criticism of the defence, who were utterly untroubled otherwise.
Not sure how Joey's error makes Moore, Ilori etc suddenly bad players.... who
