Some online sites are offering 6-1 on us for a top six finish and 50-1 for us to win the league. That's just to good to resist.

Which ones!?

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/en ... p-6-finish

https://www.oddschecker.com/football/en ... hip/winner

Highest is actually 7/1 and 66/1

Had a few quid on top 6 with sportingbet and a cheeky e/w with sky to win it.

Thanks to OP for pointing out the crazy top half odds. I could not believe we were better than evens - especially after finishing 3rd last year.

Having said that I tried setting up an account with Sporting Bet but they refused me an account - but would give no reason when I called them. I know my credit ect is fine. I have accounts with Coral and Ladbrooks already but they don't offer top half odds. Does anyone know why they would refuse a new account?

Had to settle for Paddy Power at 7/5 but hope that I will make a few quid. Also had an each way bet to win it at 50/1 and top 6 at 6/1. As someone else said these odds are just too good to miss.

With the Aluko signing and the possibility of a striker to come I think we could get close again this season. Even if no new striker comes I still think we have a good chance of top 6.

Someone constantly looking to back Reading for top half at 1.98 on Betfair exchange when 2.4 is available on Betfair Sportbook. Nice free bet if you want to indulge in a bit of back and lay.
Back to the original point. I agree that the price seems illogical. 3rd last year and added pace at the top end of the pitch plus I've yet to see a really good team in the SKY games covered so far. So, probably no Newcastle or Brighton in there this year.
Lump on indeed !

This is what happens when betting companies have automated all their trading....and the algos are reliant on stats.....people who actually watch the games have a far more realistic* expectations...we can see that we have added pace and scoring potential- but we don't have a '20+ goalscorer'- our expected goals are low....last season we lost some games heavily, and ground out a 1 goal win in others....dreadful gd, but bloody effective.

Fair to say I have several accounts, and should Reading get auto, then I am going to severely dent the bonus of several good friends! :D
Top 6 will pay for a very nice holiday.

Well, tried to put a grand on at 6/4 with Skybet but the maximum they would accept was £666.
I wonder if they put a limit on their mug punters losing big bucks on the casino games every night?

Will certainly be putting a few quid on the top half finish though

Personally I think it's ours for the winning. No one is shining through. Villa will end up top half, they are just having a wobbly start like Newcastle last season. But when Kermie is back and if he is on fire, I believe we could end up top of the pile.

Cardiff will collapse, Ipswich will slip as they aren't that good. Wolves are the only side that concern me. I think that bag of shite will go up with us unfortunately

That said as long as we do our bit, who cares

Glad I avoided this bet, was very tempted at the time, but lack of a striker put me off enough, was going to have a decent wedge on it.

18th, with the fourth lowest number of goals scored. If I still lived in Reading I could imagine being more entertained by women's tennis or the Henley regatta.
