Next 6 Games

by royalp-we » 04 Sep 2017 22:36

We tend to see several of these threads every season. I know its early. Soz.

So, our next 5 league games lead up to yet another sodding international break  Would have been 6 - had they not postponed the tykes visit

To aide getting HNA? out of its usual team board international break lull; Pop your predictions below nobbers.

Bristol City (H) - W
Brentford (A) - L
Hull (H) - W
Millwall (A) - W
Norwich (H) - W

Just to add a bit of speckled hen blurb, I've not yet seen a team play this season that made me think they are real title contenders. Many are good on paper. But nobody stands out and everyone looks beatable. Dare I say it, I think Leeds look good early doors. Cardiff solid if not spectacular. But neither will run away with it and will come unstuck due to lack of depth imo. Its still all to play for (obviously) but nobody really stands out.

Inevitably someone will run away with it, i think the top 2 will go up sooner than Newcastle & Brighton did last year.

The margins will be finer than ever for the rest of us. I'd love for us to break away and really get a run together in the next set of fixtures; to set the tone and expectations for this squad and all the new additions.

I looked at the September fixtures earlier and really, we could win the lot, I'm not envisioning a lot of dropped points this month.

My hope and expectation is we are in the play off positions by the end of this month and then stay there

Think we'll win 4 out of those 5

Looking at those fixtures, anything less than 10 points would be a poor return. In isolation you look at each game and think yep we can win that, can I see us winning 5 straight though, no will draw a couple or maybe lose one.

Going to say 11 points, undefeated but draws at Millwall and home to Hull.

Of course, Oliveria will score for Norwich.

Bristol City (H) - W
Brentford (A) - L
Hull (H) - D
Millwall (A) - W
Norwich (H) - D

That could all change though if we gain/lose momentum which is so important, especially in this league which is a well known marathon.

I think we will benefit from having played and beaten the likes of Villa and Birmingham already, too, who have strengthened in the window.

Not so convinced as yet. There seems to be a wave of optimism based mainly on beating a team who (according to their own manager) have been outplayed in all of their games so far. Down to earth in the next match, followed by more steady improvement...

Bristol City (H) - W 2-1
Brentford (A) - W 0-3
Hull (H) - D 0-0
Millwall (A) - W 1-2
Norwich (H) - L 0-1

In a shock turn of events we perform better away (as our home games are more challenging - in theory at least)

Lots already posted about Saturday’s result so we move on. Jaap has a full week at Hogwood to work on composure, and sharpness in front of goal, creating chances is not the issue. I think we’ll be in good shape come Saturday to get all 3pts.

Brentford (A) - W
Hull (H) - D
Millwall (A) - W
Norwich (H) - D

2 games played, half way stage of September and just the 1pt from a possible 6.

Would be a real turning point if we could get 9ts from our next 3 games but I'll stick with my 2 draws and win. Both draws goaless and the 1 goal to see off Millwall.

Hull (H) - D - 0-0
Millwall (A) - W - 0-1
Norwich (H) - D - 0-0
