We shouldn't have sent Novakovich on loan - he'd be a credible alternative to Jon Dadi and if we're lucky could be a Kermorgant replacement.

Smith is quite good at volleying and that's about it. Utterly dreadful against Millwall, marked out of the game by calamity Cooper until Millwall got desperate for a goal.

Haven't knowingly seen much of JDB so can't really judge yet.

Agree about Novacovic, excepts it's only in hindsight that his loan looks unfortunate.
He absolutely needed a season of playing regularly in 'proper' football so a season long loan made absolute sense at the time.
Kermogant' injury and the transfer market getting stupid were not things that could easily have been predicted.
Had he stayed and been 4th choice striker restricted to yet another season of age group football it could have been a potential career killer.

Largely agree but we should be strengthening before we send notional third strikers out on loan just to stop this sort of situation arising.

(I'm also far from convinced of the benefits of sending young players out on loan but that's for another discussion...)

Let's compare my opinion to yours:

maffff Thought in the cup Smith was very anonymous - it's a lot to throw on him at this satge.

Bodvarsson has had two games where he's been fine, scored once and one poor game. Wouldn't write him off yet.

Thank goodness someone has their head screwed on here

Me: Smith didn't look good enough in the cup, Novakovich would be better, it's too soon to judge Bod.

What the hell does that even mean?!
