Team for Sheff U (A)

So, better performance and result but with people out of position and injuries still. What to do for Sheff U? Stick? Twist? Tinker?

Bacuna was great at RB. Gunter much improved at LB. But it's a bit patchwork and I'm not sure you can rely on them to replicate that out of normal position.

For me change to a minimum, but McCleary's not really done it for 4 games in a row now.

.................Mannone
Bacuna...Ilori.. Moore... Gunter
...............Edwards..Berg
Aluko............ Kelly........ Beerens
................. Bodvarsson

Barrow to super sub it as he's not great at defensive duties and Gunter was linking well with Beerens. Maybe McCleary at RB with Bacuna returned to the middle for Edwards.

But I'd be perfectly happy to see the same XI start. Hopefully Blackett will benefit from the break and get back to the promising displays earlier in the season.

Didn't see the game yesterday :( (stream barely worked at all for me - not sure why) but I kinda think Barrow has to start if he's fit. Was he away on international duty?

When we signed Bacuna I wasn't sure how much game time he'd get in midfield when everyone was fit, and that was before we signed Edwards, but thought he'd be a good option at right-back (well RWB actually) so happy to see him stay there. Not the first time I've seen it mentioned that Gunter is better on the left. Hopefully we can have an injury-free week.

Kelly's done nothing to deserve a place really. Would prefer to see Aluko stay central - Popa should replace Gmac imo

Wouldn't disagree with Popa in for McCleary. Let him run his nuts off for 60-65 minutes. Or perhaps bring in Clement, play him behind JDB and put Aluko on the right wing

Not be a passenger in midfield for the whole game?

He started the season well, but tailed off pretty quickly

Problem is we can’t afford to pick him and play himself back into form

Yeah happy not to change a winning side, but McCleary's not been great and Kelly's been more reliable than Barrow or Popa for me.
