Balls

by SpaghettiHoop » 25 Oct 2017 09:10

A quote from Pep Guardiola about the Mitre match ball in last night's EFL game: "To score with that ball is a miracle. It is impossible. The ball is not acceptable to play with at this level. It is not a serious ball for a professional game."
The Mitre ball is used in Football League games. Is this our problem? We as a team are too good for the ball and therefore we struggle.

Hate to state he obvious, but it hasn't stopped a bucket load of goals being scored in the EFL this season so far. Suggest Pep is being a bit precious over this.

Of course it's "essentially" the same for everyone
but that doesn't mean it doesn't work against certain playing styles

It would be interesting to see if more shots from distance are going in
or whether there are more two-ins going wide etc

Pep Guardiola is a real tit.

Law 2 of the The Laws of the Game are totally straightforward:

Qualities and measurements
The ball is:
• spherical
• made of leather or other suitable material
• of a circumference of not more than 70 cm (28 ins) and not less than
68 cm (27 ins)
not more than 450 g (16 oz) and not less than 410 g (14 oz) in weight at
the start of the match

• of a pressure equal to 0.6 – 1.1 atmosphere (600 – 1,100 g/cm2
) at sea level (8.5 lbs/sq in – 15.6 lbs/sq in)

Do Man City now expect preferential treatment???

Premier League use Nike balls, Champions League use Adidas balls. Pep is saying the Mitre balls used in EFL matches ( and Football League) are unplayable.

must be true as free scoring city couldn't
score against championship
wolves.

yes we can praise or lord it over his teams exciting style of play
but i really don't like pep one bit
even his interview are
cringe-worthy.

There's an old German saying, "The ball is round". In other words, the game is unpredictable. Get over it, Pep.
