bcubed Nor sure I cam believe what I am seeing. Thoroughly deserve 2-0. Derby cant get into the game. Movement off the ball. Closing down. Tackling. Passing. Good decisions. Give and goes. Like a proper team!

The teams been kidnapped by aliens

Even on reflection this seems the only rational explanation

RichTea94 Pearce had a good spell under Rowett last season I believe.

Also for those who didn't know Nick Blackman is on loan at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Who is Nick Blackman?

RoyalBlue Stam Out! What a genius campaign that was. Still, the boycott of matches and the uplift in form might well be related. At least some felt he deserved a bit more time, loyalty and support.

Think back to:-
Pants Day
Slagging Shane Long off
Stam for the sack

Perhaps moaning is the new encouragement that works.

double d You lot are the most negative bunch of fans ever. Me and Bobby my best friend on here are the only ones being positive! And we have always been positive this season

Coming from the bloke who started a thread called "Relegation".

I thought you were "retiring" this persona?

Well I said this time last week that something absolutely had to change because we were heading to division one and frankly I'm shocked.

Tuesday we were excellent. Aggressive, incisive, really very good.

Today, well, we've gone to a form team and fcuked them.

Quite a turnaround. Please make it carry on.

Tbf his team is only 18th so hopefully not too much smirking.

This season has been utterly shit so far so the last two games have been some relief. More of the same.

Yeah this pretty much

Delighted by the last two performances but it almost makes me more annoyed about how shit we were previously this year

We really should be 10 places better off, even catering for a slow start and injuries

I'd be happy with 24 points from the remaining games

That's 6 points, so only two wins. There have been plenty of games we could / should have got something out of. Fine margins in play.

Also, we have a game in hand still, so those 6 points, might be 3 points. If we win that we'll already be 4 places higher.

Last two games we've played the way I thought our summer signings indicated. Here's hoping that's Jaap's aim, purposeful possession to assist quick counters. Bacuna, more in midfield than defence, seems instrumental to this - which was what I was trying to get at when comparing him to Williams.

TBF most fans were prepared to give Stam until December to sort things out even though up until the last 3 games he was offering zero football entertainment (except Villa) and a low point return. He was also being a stubborn prick and he’d publicly pissed a lot of fans off.
Fans were right to be calling for change. The pressure placed on Stam by fans had a positive impact on the team, the proof being recent results. Nothing wrong with fans saying it how it is, and wanting better than the turd that was being offered at the time. But there’s plenty wrong with fans just suffering in silence, then adding a “told you so” when things come good.

Let’s hope Jaap’s gained experience from this and we’ve now had our bad patch this season. If so, then I can only see us moving up the table in some style.

Early days in our recovery of course, but it's just one more sign that the difference between 5th and 20th in the Championship can often be confidence and form.

A few mistakes and game changing incidents of bad luck leading to some poor results and suddenly the players are uncertain, overthinking and not playing with freedom.

A couple of bits of good luck and confidence boosting results and they start playing with enthusiasm and instinct and go from abject to great.

The 5 games following the last international break looked tough in my book so to have got 9 points from them is well above par.

And to think during that run Get Reading ran a "webchat special" on Stam's future.....a lot of the negativity is being fed by the local media.
