Royals and Racers Could be a long afternoon 1-0 down after 3 minutes.
2-0 down after 6 mins

6-0 in the end - but they're not the only ones to get thumped like that by Arsenal this season. Let's see how they bounce back.

Referee David McNamara has been suspended for three weeks following Readings 1-1 draw with Man City.

Having forgotten his coin for the toss-up* he had the team captains play rock, paper, scissors

Personally, I congratulate him for his improvisation.

That`s what Harriott and Frost did on Monday night to decide who took the penalty(1st) against Birmingham U23`s !!!

On the one hand, great improvisation, on the other hand, he's not exactly overburdened with things to remember.

A dedicated thread is one thing, but a dedicated forum is what's needed - something for hobnob to ponder

Seems a very harsh punishment for that misdemeanour, given some of the appalling performances that his fellow refs produce and which go unpunished. Perhaps it was for being so stupid. There was a decent attendance at that game. Why didn't he just run over to the crowd and ask to borrow a coin?

I agree it's a harsh punishment. Apparently he went for rock, paper scissors because the game was being broadcast live and he didn't have time to get a replacement coin because it would fcuk up broadcasting schedules.

If true, that in itself tells you everything that's wrong with football IMO. Like the game can't handle a 1 minute delay considering there's an unpredetermined amount of added time in every game.

Exactly. Either that or he's an incredibly slow runner. Anyway, no guarantee that Rock, Paper, Scissors will be over quickly!

Someone who went has estimated 200-300 there- it was free entry as well. 5th round( last 16 ) is due to be played next Sunday. Next league match is at Madejski stadium on Wednesday February 20th against West Ham KO 7.30PM

I’ve never been to one of the Women’s games (not for any reason other than I just haven’t !) . May make a point of getting to the game on the 20th.

My daughter keeps asking me to take her to a football match. I've plumped for Reading Women away to Everton in April.
