Has Stam left the club? No changes for THREE games now

Reading XI

Mannone, Gunter, McShane, Moore, Bacuna, Berg, Kermorgant, Aluko, Barrow, Kelly, Edwards

Subs

Jaakkola, Beerens, Bodvarsson, Popa, Blackett, Clement, Ilori

Even the bench is unchanged, I reckon Stam’s gone or these are the only vaguely fit players at the club.

Whisper it , but BBCRB radio commentary is currently available in t'internet if you are outside the BBCRB radio catchment area. No doubt the powers that be will switch it off shortly, but currently on.

We've played alright in this so far

Bar one mistake which led to McShane getting booked I'd say Aluko has been MoM

Can anyone explain what happened there? A free kick was given after the ball had gone out?

Red card for Sunderland

Sounds like a attempt to cheat in a handball goal

Fair?

loooooooool

Sunderland fans celebrating a goal, turns out it was a handball and they've actually had a red card for the second yellow.

Get the impression Reading aren’t quite at the races but still managing to hold their own

Lots of bookings about with Aluko and McShane having to tread carefully and Sunderland already down to 10 after McManaman’s bit of silliness. Cattermole and Oviedo are also in the book.

Not sure what to expect from Sunderland now they are down to 10 but it could be a bit of parking the bus and looking for breakaways with McGeady and Grabban which might make things worse for Reading as they try to find space to utilise somewhere.

Ok so Aluko was booked for a foul. The foul I'm assuming was him leaping to his feet and "wrapping his arms around Oviedo's neck in a hug like manner". But what happened in the build up baffles me.
Aluko attempted to keep the ball in play and, imo, failed. Should be a goal kick. Oviedo then dove in 2 footed and took out the ball (that I think was already over the line) and Aluko. The ref gives a free kick to Sunderland.

WTF? Is there some rule I dont know about?

Looked to me like he was slightly ahead of the ball, so just threw his arm up. Not the brightest thing to do when you've already been booked.
