bobby1413 Blackett getting lots of blame on Radio

EDIT: although Tim doesn't agree and thinks he's just a scapegoat

I'm a bit conflicted on Blackett. I thought he started the season quite well, but he is often rather casual and completely fell apart as a player. Him returning to form would allow us to go back to playing everyone in the right position. The problem with that is, it means that Gunter goes back to right back when he's been better at left back, and Bacuna's been better than Gunter at right back.

We haven't traveled particularly well to Ipswich recently and we're still putting ourselves back together from our terrible start. Two defeats in nine is fine. We should have converted more of those draws to wins, all of them really, but high ho, we're having one of those seasons. Just gotta to keep plugging away, probably not going to make the POs. Where we finish in the league table isn't really as important as finishing the season with a decent run of results and staying clear of a relegation fight. So I'll happily take a few set backs mid-season and finishing 10th-15th if we can manage to win most of our last five or six games.

Lol at 73 percent possession for us. Can't be bothered to post a report on that. Let's just pretend it never happened.

He pretty much is a scapegoat, he's done nothing wrong but because we're 2-0 down, he gets the blame anyway.

Because Stam once again had to piddle about with a team unnecessarily and, hey presto, back to the totally dreary cr@p performances and another loss

As a result Blackett gets it

By the way Burton won at Bolton and they’re next up. Lose that and the Stam out brigade will be back up and running big time.

Hound Sounds like a pretty crap second half.

Big missed opportunity today, could have gone 11th and within sight of Sheff Utd

Still a season of mid table obscurity beckons

Bbcrb highlights comprised the two ipswich goals and the dave edwards miss and nothing else. Seems they’re still waiting for the second half to start...

Listened to the game on BBCRB and snoozed off a couple times, just boring. Expected a win today. Anyone who did their homework on Ipswich would know that they have a soft midfield and an iffy backline. Forget beating them, we didn’t even trouble them.

SSnews highlights - 2 pretty crap goals to concede - McShane outjumped for the 2nd

Edwards had a great chance - would expect him to score that. Not much else, couple of Ipswich efforts

The Reading team coach has been involved in a collision on leaving Portman Road. Someone has impaled their car in the rear of the coach. Car looks a mess but coach looks not too bad. Don't know if anyone has been hurt but expect all on coach to be OK.

Two incredibly sloppy goals to give away, and absolutely no luck in front of goal at the other end. We had about 5 chances to score and he gods sconspire against us.

Move onto the next one, and as long as we keep creating chances we'll begin to see more results.

Frustrating as a good result could have really set us up for a relatively straight forward run of games (inc Brum, Burton, Hull, Brentford, Barnsley) in the next month. Play offs could still have been a possibility. Not now I don’t think.

alfie9 Time to start planning for next season. Lets give a few more youth players a chance

If that's the case, we should be doing so without the manager who created this sad state of affairs with one of the most talented squads in our history.
