It's weird to think we've only lost 6 games out of the last 17...

And that last season we only got 4 points less than when we went up under McDermott.

It's almost like Stam is actually a half decent manager and he's just dealing with injuries and a resulting slump in form and spirit . . . . .

Yep, and we've been in all of them really, not been spanked, etc.

I know, I'll get me coat...

The problem is we've only won 3 in 14 games as well (2 in 12 in the league)

Need to start picking up wins from anywhere really. Last minute goal off the oppo keeper's arse will do nicely.

We tend to announce sackings at 5pm right?

Looks like he survives another day.

Hound it is a nice part of the country, and is close to Heathrow and London. It does make a difference, LOL or not.

I speak as one born and bred in Reading and proud of it but "nice part of the country"? you're having a laugh.

I suspect prospective players aren't looking at Whitley. Loads of gorgeous local villages, some decent urban areas, the Oracle is fine.

It’s been a slow day what with no public hanging so let’s unite both the Stam IN and Stam OUT fans with the power of song

Match day chant as follows please.

(fans) - we love you Reading
(angry mob) - Stam OUT!
(fans) - We love you Reading
(angry mob) - Stam OUT
(fans) - We love you Reading
(angry mob) - Stam OUT
(all together in harmony) - Ohhh, Reading we love you

Best of best worlds really… should keep everyone happy. And I believe Stam may even approve :)

Yep.
It's the slow, boring possession game that pisses me off more than the results.
The lack of chances.
At least under McDermott there were crosses going into the box. Our wide players were encouraged to take players on, it was exciting, even if we lost.
We drag the oppo down to our level and hope to bore them into submission. It worked last year (even though i hated it), but everyone knows what to do against us this year.

21 points, and we've scored more (22) than we've conceded (20)

Yup, it was that bad last year. In fact the playoff final was embarrassing. It wasn't that we were cautious or afraid, we actually play like that.

We did have 7 goals in 2 games though......

Problem is we were useless before that as well. That includes the best run we’ve had this season

The thing is, no one would be nearly as upset if we'd spaced that good run of about 8 games amongst the terrible results before and afterwards. We wen't from about 1 point a game, to 2 points a game, to about 1 point a game again.

Surely if Burton complete the double over us next week there can be no argument?

Lose in the cup as we probably will, then lose to Burton you’d think that would be that

Who knows though. Transfer window will be done pretty much by then.

People have been saying that for weeks though. In fact, many said if we lost to Burton in the home tie then that would be it.

The longer we leave it the less of an impact a new manager will have.
