I remember going to Huddersfield away in the early 90's and there were literally a handful of us there. So much so that it was raining heavily during the match and they let us all into the covered stand were the Huddersfield fans were. To top it off I'm pretty sure the game was goalless!!

Workington away early 70's mid-week I was one of 12 who made the trip from Reading. Crowd was about 900 and yes you've guessed it a 0-0 draw. Train got back to London about 7.30 next morning and straight to work.
Supporters Club legend Mick Foster was on the trip and arranged complimentary tickets for the dedicated dozen.

I've always wondered about how many we took to Oxford in 1976 (?) It was an evening game between Xmas and New Year, lost 0-1 to a late goal, snow. I was on a supporters coach, but I counted very, very few Biscuitmen on the terraces.

So it was left to me to chin the Oxford scum.

Too early or a Low Home Attendance spin off?
Reading v Peterbourgh 11/08/99 League Cup tie at the Mad Stad, freezing cold Wednesday afternoon in the Tommy Burns era, it finished 0-0 and was one of the dullest games I've ever witnessed. Official Attendance 4,615

I reckon I saw under 2k at Elm Park for league games v York and Hartlepool in the 70's. Maybe PNE in 1983 too.

Was that when we had Ade Williams wearing the no. 9 (when shirt numbers meant something)

My uncle drove us to that game. Old school snow-covered pitch with an orange ball. Only reason we went was because we knew that it was Robin Friday's last game before his move to Cardiff. Was in the Oxford end and kept schtum.

Dick Habbin's hairdo 14 at Gresty Road, Crewe, on a Tuesday night for a league game and a crap 1-0 defeat. Can't remember the year..... late 80s?

I remember a 1-1 draw from around then, a night game, ....
There were hardly and fans on the away terrace, but quite a few went in the seats (I think it was raining), which were unsegregated*, so it would have been hard to spot the fans.

That's the one. Did we really get a point? Such a miserable night and early onset Alzeheimer's has blurred the history....

Possibly, he did actually manage to wear all the shirts in the end 1-11. Saw him play in goal at Fulham on the night when David Hamilton got the right hump with us for singing all the way through half time as he couldn't hear himself speak :D

Apparently the record low for a LEAGUE game at Elm Park was 1934 v Bradford in 1991 then 1943 v Preston in 1982 but I always thought the Preston game was the record with 1732 fans

Anyone able to confirm?

In the book "Biscuits and Royals" by David Downs it states lowest attendance at Elm park was 1,713 versus Preston North End, Division 4, on October 2nd. 1982. Good memory you got there.

I went to Bury in the early 1970s when I was about 8 to see Bury v Reading in the days of Charles Hurley...All the way in a Morris Minor.
All I remember is the fog and being upset because we lost. But I do remember quite a sparse terrace. Don't remember much about the game.

I remember us playing Orient in the Freight Rover Trophy at Elm Park back in the 80's. Can't remember the exact attendance but it was in the 900s

I was at the Preston game - it was at the end of the Frank Waller era and I am fairly sure after this game (which we lost) he put the club up for sale. Can remember it raining heavily and both terraces behind the goals were nearly empty.

The game was on Southern TV with George Best in the TV studio doing the analysis. I'm sure I've seen the highlights on here somewhere....Kerry Dixon scored twice.

Lowest home crowd for a FRT game was 1151 v Northampton in 91/92.

We played in the football league trophy v Bournemouth, in front of 1136, in a group stage before the season started.

In 85/86 we played Orient in the FRT in front of 1403

Was there too and confirm was Friday's last game, Remember snow and orange ball and Friday with strapped up ankle as sub already made just standing around in centre circle. Think Christmas 1977, was ten and was not allowed in away end so my Dad and I had to stand along touchline with Ox fans

Was 1976. We were on the (open) Cuckoo Lane end, having braved the 13 Icy Bends of Death to get there. Bastards ran out of hot drinks by half-time. Was a bit thin at that end. Think we lost in the last minute. Friday was sold. We went down to Div 4. Would have DDREEEEAAAMEDD of being 18th in Div Two and a roof over our heads back then.
