Wish him well, easy to forget he was a crucial player for us last season.

Though I'm a bit wary about getting rid of Popa and Beerens- that leaves Barrow, Aluko and McCleary plus possibly Bacuna and Bod on the wings. Maybe a little light?

McCleary looks shot (I think he has been "dying" since he first hurt his back)

Stam must know he isn't promising even in the medium term.

So we seem to have Barrow, and the mis-firing Aluko... and we can move our highest-scoring striker out wide.

Any possibility we are going to dispense with wingers? Maybe 5-3-2?

Harriott is making his way back and he looked decent when he did play

Shame, he did quite well last season. Not really played that much this season and overshadowed by Barrow.

We do need to shift some of our 'flair' attackers though so good to see some moved on, Swift, Clement, Beerens, Harriott, Aluko, Barrow, McCleary and Popa really was too many. I really do think we should focus on wing backs, not wingers, and play 3-5-2 / 5-3-2.

McCleary should be next to move on eventually. Followed by Aluko - although that seems pretty unlikely.

Good move all around I think. I felt he wasn't the best fit for us although he did score some crucial goals last year. Don't think the championship suited him well. Shame as he had some quality but lacked the pace to be effective regularly enough in games

Reading in the Chronic that we got £500k for Beerens! Blimey, nice deal if that's true! But would Vitesse REALLY pay 500k for a 30 yr old no mark??? And give him a 3½ year deal? Unlikely.
