Dr_Hfuhruhurr I think we'll stay up because Beerens is just the type of player we want to leave the club, and Martin is just the type of player we want to join the club. I agree the Ekphick injury doesnt help, but this seems like a bit of business that could make a difference. There is an awful lot of fuss following a defeat on the furthest Away game of the season. Stam has weathered the Birmingham, Burton and Millwall results, he's here until the end of the season. He'll finish in the late teens.

Slavish sycophancy will not save us. This team cannot play coherent football, cannot execute any sort of plan. The managers told us that on numerous occasions.

Desperate times.

Well, exactly.
What is being overlooked in the whole 'fans who turn up and dont criticise the team are the true fans' nonsense is that sycohpancy is simply enabling a poor regime. We need to start raising our standards

Some Tool We will not get relegated. This is because there are more than 3 teams worse than us in the league that will have a lower points total come game 46.

Hoping three teams are worse than you is the purest antithesis of sport. Is that where we are?

So it’s do a massive shit in the centre circle Dr H.

Well my answer is to not go at all. But Im guessing 10k STHs have a different outlook.
Ive actually seen somebody (in fact more than one) do a massive shit in public and its unwaveringly unsexy. Not sure if thats the answer if Im honest.

I once saw a tramp shake a trouser leg and roll a turd out.

That was in Slough. Whether he could play up front is another matter.

Or it won't. :D

I have no "logical" reason for this, but I think if Stam stays and we stay up, even as low as fourth bottom,
next year we'll go up automatic

Didn't that more-or-less happen to Brighton?

PS Of course, we might go down.

On this, IF we came straight back up, I think it might well "re-set" the club. We'd have a season of lots of victories and excitement, and then do well in the Championship.

No, the year before Brighton went up automatically they finished... 3rd.

It must have been the two seasons before that I'm thinking of. One season they nicked sixth to our seventh on the last day. The following season they were near relegation, the next they were third?

Old Man Andrews
John Smith To all the stattos, to all the doubters, to all the boo boys:

We will not get relegated. This is because there are more than 3 teams worse than us in the league that will have a lower points total come game 46.

It's really that simple.

Whilst I agree we won't go down when all is said and done at this moment in time when we need points there is nobody worse than us in the league, that is my concern. We need to keep picking up the odd point here and there and right now it looks like an impossible task.

I think Sunderland showed some fight at the weekend to come back from 3-0 down at Bristol City, could really kick start their season. Could you see us coming back from 3-0? No chance as the players we have do not have it in them.

We did 2-0 away at Bolton. There's oxf*rd all chance of doing it at home given the toxic atmosphere, a slim chance away at the like of Forest who are incredibly vulnerable.

Given that we haven't been 3-0 down all season, one would hope we don't need to. We were 2-0 down at Bolton and got a draw. Coming back from any deficit is not necessarily a sign their season will kick on, esp. when 2 of those 3 goals were scored by Bristol City.

A daily occurrence in downtown LA. It might be the Winter Olympics in Korea but it’s the Turd Olympics here at the moment. Saw one the size of a large toddlers shoe outside Macy’s recently.

Zip I think we will scrape survival but to suggest with certainty that we won’t go down is idiotic.
I fear we will just give up, the team we have don't come across as the fight to the death kind.

I think it will be Burton plus two others to drop, with the other two coming from anyone up to QPR in 15th. There's a lot of bang average/poor sides in this group (including us) and it won't take much for anyone to get dragged in. We need to make sure we get some points from the sides around us, and if we can manage that, we might just about be ok. It's going to be tight though.

Of the sides from 15th down we have to play
QPR (h) 30th March
Forest (a) 24th Feb
Wednesday (a) 21st April
Us (N/A)
Bolton (h) 6th March
Birmingham (N/A)
Hull (N/A)
---
Barnsley (N/A)
Sunderland (h) 14th April
Burton (N/A)

So 5 games against our rivals remaining, including a big week in April where we host Sunderland and then go to Wednesday. Take 10+ points from those 5 and it should be just about enough. Especially if we can dig out a few points from other games.

Can you really see us getting 10+ points from 5 games? Considering we only got 8 from the reverse fixtures, and arguably our form has been much worse in the second half of the season.

Take your point, and to answer it, maybe. Given the severity of the situation we now find ourselves in, it may kick us into action. We won at Burton in a must win game, and were the better side. And by the time some of the fixtures above roll round, Elphick should be back to help tighten us up at the back a bit too. I'm trying to be positive!

Forest will certainly be a good barometer. Its a massive game for us. If we put in another dreadful display against a team who have lost 5 in a row at home, then I'll really fear for our chances

They`ve not scored in any of those games either, and if I`m not mistaken the home game before that they stuck four past Arsenal.
