Like a bet mate?

No one knows the real transfer fees anyway. It's just all speculation.

Yes that old get out of jail argument. None so blind etc.

The overall total spent is in the accounts. We spent 15.5m from 1st July until now

Doesn’t give the breakdown but think we can make a pretty accurate guess

We deserve to go down because of our attitude alone. Burton might not have the talent but they are run on a shoe string and all their players give 100%. Reading epitomize what is wrong with modern day football on and off the pitch. Money spent badly by people who have no idea what they are doing. A manager hired on his reputation as being a big player. A team that couldn't care less about the club ( bar one or two exceptions) who are happy to pick up their money knowing its guaranteed in league one, or they'll be sold. Owners who don't attend the games who are off somewhere on business and a crowd that can't be arsed to turn up because of all of the above. We deserve to be relegated, whether we will or not relies on how shit everyone else is.

I have been saying since Burton at home that we look like a relegation side. Our owners are nowhere to be seen. Our manager is as clueless as any manager in our history. The players are just as accountable. There is no fight. A lot of them can’t play a couple of games without getting injured. One win in seventeen and yet Stam is still in charge. Staggering.

Agree, it is staggering

We'd almost certainly be right in the relegation zone most seasons with this showing. Thankfully there are some really abject teams around.

I don't think Birmingham or Sunderland have the fight either but Burton do. Trust me, if we continue like this - they will catch us

I'd love Nigel Clough to be our next manager. I reckon he could do so much with this side.

Oh my word. Look at his managerial record.

What taking Burton from the seventh tier of league football and keeping a club that is league 2 at best in the Championship? That's impressive, or maybe saving Sheffield United from relegation and taking them to an FA and League Cup Semi Final. He wasn't bad at Derby but then you felt the weight of his fathers achievements on his back at that club didn't help. He's a good manager.

I thought the accounts only showed up to June 30, wasn't sure if it included the rest of the transfer window

I doubt he had any say in signings ..

I just don’t believe that. You don’t think Tevreden had any conversations about the players he needed?

No player is signed without the manager’s approval.

Trouble is the manager and his team don’t sign “winners” they sign “confidence” players and players who are used to being in losing sides and therefore struggle badly and go missing when the chips are down.

And tonight Reading have managed 2 off target shots which is utterly pathetic for any team playing in any game anywhere.

Gone are the days when a manager says who s/he wants, they work with what they're given ..

Can't see from the accounts what add ons are for what and who, how much is left to pay on certain players etc. It's guess work to say what a transfer fee is.

Any manager worth their salt wouldn't touch reading with a bargepole in our current state. Just shows how the mess of ownership has wiped away any real progression, we are a club wandering into trouble.

The ONE consolation from our inevitable relegation in a few weeks time, is that there are some current players that thankfully we will NEVER EVER have to watch playing for us again.

Gunter for one. Captain ???? Leave tomorrow please.

So many others. No heart. No fight. No passion. No interest in OUR football club.

We will have to regroup in the third tier, hope our academy can produce, and clear the decks of the umpteen crooks currently mugging RFC for a living pretending to be a player.

Make no mistake, the fans have barely let the team know their feelings this season so far. Be prepared "players", as just maybe at one of the last four home games you may find out just how angry we feel. This is bad. No guts. The players are a total and utter embarrassment. Thankfully, MOST of the spineless, weak, pathetic tripe currently on show will be gone in the summer.

Ade Williams and Glenn Little on RB exasperated with another pathetic performance.

Our club is a laughing stock from top to bottom rotten to the core .

We’re riddled with a disease of ineptitude, cowardice, corruption and greed.

Has there ever been a manager anywhere who’s won one just game in seventeen and not been sacked ?

Same record as the Southampton manager and he got the bullet yesterday, they are in deeper doodoo than us though.

No, the 15.5 was mentioned as being spent after the accounting period

It’s not broken down, but you can put the pieces together to make a fair stab at the fees. The only big money signing who part payment may have been significant in that is probably Ilori.

Lots of things bemuse me about this side, but the constant 1-2 game injuries suffered by the likes of Bacuna and Kelly, Martin not turning up Ill, this weird staggered comeback of Swift - play half an hour miss a game (can’t see how this is helping tbh) just send a message of being soft

Jonathan Low’s player ratings made me smile. Nearly every player with a 3/10 with Aluko excelling himself with a 2.

At least he doesn’t try and make out it’s better than it is. He certainly sounds as exasperated as the rest of us

More of the same Saturday?
