Definitive Paul Clement whelmguage

How much whelm

Overwhelmed - I can't believe this day has come, as a long time Clementine I am overjoyed.

Whelmed - Cautiously optimistic, as good of a manager that we could hope for at the moment.

Underwhelmed - For a moment I thought we were in danger of passing forwards, glad that's not the case.

Old Boy Blue Was not my first choice by any means but i think he has come over extremely well today. Hopefulluy his confidence and enthusiasm will transmit to the players and we will get the results we desperately need.
On reflection his record at Derby was very good and after saving Swansea they repaid him by selling their best players.
Good luck Paul, we must all get 100% behind him for the rest of the season.

oxf*rd top post.

CountryRoyal I'm definitely on the upper side of whelmed, I think this could turn out to be a really good appointment.
this, and whelmed with the addition of some “Reading” support staff

Not a bad shout - very effective on the attack, although ultimately his poor defence was his downfall.

Tactics were his downfall. Can't believe we've got someone on a long contract again, we just needed someone to get out this mess then re-evaluate. Clement looked clueless when Swansea were floundering, what makes him qualified now ..

If you hire a new manager it means you have faith in him. You can't give a manager you have faith in a 1 year deal.

It might go wrong, who knows but I don't think this guy has enough failure to write him off.

Yes I would have gone for someone else but I think he just might be ok.

I see what you're saying but those who argued that there were other causes that diminished his responsibility were wrong then and they're wrong now.

Henley Royal 1 Happy with appointment we were on our way down without doubt now we have a chance .

Strange appointment given his recent failings

Brian Clough failed at Brighton and Leeds before winning two European cups with Forest not that hes in that class .

I honestly wouldn't say that Clement has failed

Ron's job probably relies on this appointment. He clearly sees something in him.

If we'd have appointed Carlton Palmer I would have gone all longhorn but this appointment is far from stupid.

Actually used to watch Mansfield quite regularly when he managed there. A truly abysmal manager. Utterly clueless

I had Keith Curle in the same bracket for a while but he seems to have found his place at Carlisle.

When you look at who we have just appointed then look at poor old Oxford with their new manager.

Oh, don't sell us short. I've been known to get a round in. It might have been a Carlsberg in a Weatherspoon's, though.

Old Man Andrews I am very whelmed. Jaap has gone and a new manager is here! Peter Sutcliffe could be taking over for all I care. As long as Stam isn't here I am happy!

how about Stam's twin brother?

Snowflake Royal I'm also knocking in at about 6.5 / 7 on the genomic scale.

I would't have placed you above 6.483
