Aston Villa v Reading FC Official Prediction Thread

by Snowball » 31 Mar 2018 22:51

Rules as per the previous few leagues games

Point for correctly predicting first team to score. You cannot use this
as insurance. For example Reading to win 2-0 but QPR to score first,

Bonus point for standard format exactly as the example below:

Aston Villa 0-1 Reading HT
Aston Villa 2-1 Reading HT

Reading to score first <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Dadi 39
Villa 79
Villa 89

I ask for this because it saves time transcribing

Bonus points awarded for games of 3 or more goals where the goal sequence
is given correctly. You predict that spot on and get beaucoup extra points.

Anyone getting first Reading goal-scorer points, (must have result right for that half)
gets a 5 point bonus if they are within one minute either way

All older rules apply

Points awarded for HT Correct Result (1), HT Correct Score (3) (except for 0-0 which scores 1)

Further explanation. (at HT) You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score other than 0-0 which only scores 1 point
At HT or FT if you get the correct score you DON'T get 4 points for correct score (3) and result (1)

Points awarded for FT Correct Result (1), FT Correct Score (3) (including 0-0)

FT - You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score including 0-0

3 Points added for first Reading Goal-Scorer if the score or result is also correct

( PLEASE NOTE: If you predict a first-half RFC scorer then your first half score/result decides your FGS bonus) even if things change radically second half

Example: You predict Kelly 25 and 1-0 HT, 2-1 FT. Kelly scores first half and Reading are 1-0 up at HT = you earn 3+3 points. Second half we fall apart and lose 1-4, your HT score/scorer marks are still good.

The rules do not prevent you posting impossible predictions like RFC 1-0 HT, 0-3 FT

OWN GOALS

Last game we had an OG in Reading's favour (ie by a Cardiff player)

Such OG's DO COUNT as First RFC Scorer, as per most sane bookies

Remember -3 points is awarded for the worst prediction

In the event of me failing to post a separate prediction, I'll use this example

We were brilliant in the home game against them. Not sure we have it in us to get successive clean sheets though.

Will go for a 1-0 defeat with Grabban to score in the 56th minute

Villa were pretty useless against Hull. Don’t think they are a great side tbh, very slow at the back as well

Like to think we could sneak something but will go for a 1-0 defeat

Villa (0)1 Reddin’ 0

Reading knackered after Friday's effort might struggle with Grealish dancing through our midfield.
Seeing Smith win every header in the second half for QPR am worried about set-pieces from Snodgrass-can just see John Terry scoring from a header and was disappointed to see that Kodija is fit again.
Villa 4 Reading 1.
Hoping of course that Barnsley, Sunderland and Burton fail to get points today which may make tomorrow's game slightly less crucial.
Icing on the cake would be Preston losing at home to Derby to mess up their play-off hopes ahead of our game with them next Saturday but can't see it.

Villa surely more knackered playing 24 hours later? Our players should easily have recovered by then

And see Preston did indeed lose to the shower that is Derby - watched the last 30 mins and they were pretty poor as well. Unfortunately results went well enough for them elsewhere to still have a sniff - if Boro had won would think that would have been it
