Fulham v Reading Official Predictions Thread

by Snowball » 09 Apr 2018 15:36

Rules as per the previous few leagues games

Point for correctly predicting first team to score. You cannot use this
as insurance. For example Reading to win 2-0 but QPR to score first,

Bonus point for standard format exactly as the example below:

Fulham 1-0 Reading HT
Fulham 3-1 Reading FT

Fulham to score first <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Fulham 33
Fulham 52
Barrow 66
Fulham 84

I ask for this because it saves time transcribing

Bonus points awarded for games of 3 or more goals where the goal sequence
is given correctly. You predict that spot on and get beaucoup extra points.

Anyone getting first Reading goal-scorer points, (must have result right for that half)
gets a 5 point bonus if they are within one minute either way

All older rules apply

Points awarded for HT Correct Result (1), HT Correct Score (3) (except for 0-0 which scores 1)

Further explanation. (at HT) You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score other than 0-0 which only scores 1 point
At HT or FT if you get the correct score you DON'T get 4 points for correct score (3) and result (1)

Points awarded for FT Correct Result (1), FT Correct Score (3) (including 0-0)

FT - You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score including 0-0

3 Points added for first Reading Goal-Scorer if the score or result is also correct

( PLEASE NOTE: If you predict a first-half RFC scorer then your first half score/result decides your FGS bonus) even if things change radically second half

Example: You predict Kelly 25 and 1-0 HT, 2-1 FT. Kelly scores first half and Reading are 1-0 up at HT = you earn 3+3 points. Second half we fall apart and lose 1-4, your HT score/scorer marks are still good.

The rules do not prevent you posting impossible predictions like RFC 1-0 HT, 0-3 FT

OWN GOALS

Last game we had an OG in Reading's favour (ie by a Cardiff player)

Such OG's DO COUNT as First RFC Scorer, as per most sane bookies

Remember -3 points is awarded for the worst prediction

In the event of me failing to post a separate prediction, I'll use this example

I have no intention of simplifying the predictions!

1 Point for correct format (makes it easier/quicker for me to transcribe)

1 Point for predicting first team to score (formatted as below)
--------- Reading first team to score

3 Points for correct HT Score (except 0-0)
1 Points for correct HT Result (or 0-0)

3 Points for correct FT Score
1 Points for correct FT Result

3 Points for correct RFC Scorer
(But you must have score or result correct.
If you predict an RFC scorer first-half then HT score/result is the decider)

IF you win first Reading Scorer points there is a bonus for the correct time
plus or minus one minute.

Finally, in games where both sides score, it's possible to get the goals-sequence exactly right
(not necessarily with times) -- eg Reading lead, pegged back, Fulham go ahead 2-1, then 3-1,
Reading get a second, then get a dramatic late equaliser. If someone manages to correctly predict
a sequence of 3 or more goals, then I'll award points for that too,

Obviously the more goals in the sequence, the more points earned.

====================

There are many reasons for the various bits and bobs above. First Team to Score, for example. Some people don't want to predict times etc but are convinced either Reading will start well and nick a goal or conversely, they'll concede before getting their act together. First Team to Score gives that an outlet.

It never ceases to amaze me just how awkward people can be. A couple of games ago, for example I had someone post Reading NOT to score first. Well, to start with that is so easy to mis-read, and second, that would also "be a winner" if the score was 0-0.

The format thing is to help me. The wild number of different ways to express a football score never cease to amaze me.

================================

All you need to do is follow the format as below and I'll do the rest

Fulham 2-0 Reading HT
Fulham 3-3 Reading FT

Fulham to score first <<<<<

Fulham 12
Fulham 41

Barrow 46
Bodvarsson 51
Kermogant 75

Fulham 90+

Fulham 2-0 Reading HT
Fulham 3-3 Reading FT

Fulham to score first <<<<<

Fulham 12

Copy and Paste, change the teams/names/times to suit

Why do you need to say "Fulham to score first", when you've predicted they'll be 2-0 up at halftime?

Agree on the format thing, if that makes it easier for you snowball. But times of when the oppo score etc? Score, HT score and first goal scorer would be good enough imo

Dont mean it as a criticism, you're doing a sound job, but simple is good.

Because *I* have to cogitate,

Say it's Fulham 2-1 HT. Then I have to scan to see who scored first

Sorry, should've explained. Many people write the times
but there is no point-award other than the first READING scorer

There is no REQUIREMENT to give times
but if people don't "time" the first RDG scorer
they limit their possible scores

People can write

Fulham
Fulham
HT
Barrow 68
Fulham
FT
