Snowball
From Despair To Where? The time to sign Long was 2 years ago.

You may be right, but what we need is some POWER, some speed, a few hard men
in our side. I remember the Everton CBs saying how Long & Hunt didn't give them a moment's
rest. We miss that element. Kermy doesn't do it, Martin (ha-ha) and neither does Bod
(who I like). He's not a clatterer, someone who leaves bruises, etc.

We don't have any scary players. We have become soft IMO

Pelle "Legbreaker" Clement?

Hendo

So that's a goal every 305 minutes in the Premiership
or a goal/assist every 179 minutes. Long will get 18-25
in a full Championship season

Correct me if I am wrong, but a goal or an assist every 179 games isn't that good.

Sorry that was Ian Royal's stats

Big changes are not needed at Reading FC this summer, argues Swift

..... Balls. This lot are lightweight. Too many Flossie's.

My first response is to agree with you,
but, saying that, we have a few younger, slight players
who will probably beef up compared to this season

We need a striker to compete with Bod

A proper all-action ball winning midfielder in the mound of Fernandinho, Kante, Wanyama, Ndidi

Competition on the wing for Aluko. Ideally loan in case McCleary gets back.

This will be unpopular, but Id love us to sign a keeper. Goalkeepers are SO underrated in a side and Mannone is the GK verison of Chris Gunter, which is Ok if you’re a right back (not ideal) but needs to be better if you’re a keeper. Al habsi, De Gea, Ederson have been great, but Cech, Mingolet have proven you’re undermined without a top keeper at the back.

Send Novakovic back out on loan to a Eredevision side

Attitude problems apparently

Doubt this helps either. Chain-smoking a couple of weeks ago back in Romania between games for his loan team.

Unless he signs a new deal before we let him go, he wouldn't return. Next season is last on his contract.

Doubt if he doesn't get a chance here he'll sign again, which makes a loan less likely if we rate him but he isn't ready.

Could be a stand off coming up soon, if the club rates him. I'd keep him around the team and send Smith out on loan instead.

Suspect he’ll be assessed in pre season. And he’ll assess him chance of game time at Reading. He’ll either then sign a new contract or he’ll be sold

IMO, Reading need a right winger, the striker that never happens and that defensive midfielder who breaks up play, leads by example and can turn out a great forward pass a few times a game.

Nainggolan smokes and gets smashed all the time, don’t see a problem if you can still preform at an acceptable level.

I like Popa, he’s quick and exciting, although not the best end product.

I can't see why he wouldn't sign a new deal then go out on loan. But yeah, a pre-season of assessment makes sense all round

Get rid of the entire lot of them the spineless bunch of oxf*rd. I'd rather play a youth team than this lot of grossly overpaid useless mercenaries .

Let’s hope you can still say that this time next week - or even better that we’re safe and have nothing to play for at Cardiff.

If we need to go cardiff and they need to win to get 2nd, we are 100% going down by then.

Issue completely due to Stam and his overly technical approach in training and purchase of players who can actually pass if you let them but can’t actually tackle.

Really hoping Reading can get away with it and survive this season and that Paul Clement manages to achieve a complete REVOLUTION of the playing side of things in the summer - though who’d want to buy or even loan in any of them (except Moore) is beyond me.
