Sheffield Wednesday v Reading - Official Predictions Thread

by Snowball » 17 Apr 2018 20:57

Rules as per the previous few leagues games

Point for correctly predicting first team to score. You cannot use this
as insurance. For example Reading to win 2-0 but QPR to score first,

Bonus point for standard format exactly as the example below:

Wednesday 0-1 Reading HT
Wednesday 1-1 Reading FT

Reading to score first <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Bod 22
Wednesday 85

I ask for this because it saves time transcribing

Bonus points awarded for games of 3 or more goals where the goal sequence
is given correctly. You predict that spot on and get beaucoup extra points.

Anyone getting first Reading goal-scorer points, (must have result right for that half)
gets a 5 point bonus if they are within one minute either way

All older rules apply

Points awarded for HT Correct Result (1), HT Correct Score (3) (except for 0-0 which scores 1)

Further explanation. (at HT) You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score other than 0-0 which only scores 1 point
At HT or FT if you get the correct score you DON'T get 4 points for correct score (3) and result (1)

Points awarded for FT Correct Result (1), FT Correct Score (3) (including 0-0)

FT - You get 0 points for wrong, 1 point for correct result,
3 points for a correct score including 0-0

3 Points added for first Reading Goal-Scorer if the score or result is also correct

( PLEASE NOTE: If you predict a first-half RFC scorer then your first half score/result decides your FGS bonus) even if things change radically second half

Example: You predict Kelly 25 and 1-0 HT, 2-1 FT. Kelly scores first half and Reading are 1-0 up at HT = you earn 3+3 points. Second half we fall apart and lose 1-4, your HT score/scorer marks are still good.

The rules do not prevent you posting impossible predictions like RFC 1-0 HT, 0-3 FT

OWN GOALS

Last game we had an OG in Reading's favour (ie by a Cardiff player)

Such OG's DO COUNT as First RFC Scorer, as per most sane bookies

Remember -3 points is awarded for the worst prediction

In the event of me failing to post a separate prediction, I'll use this example

2-0 Weds FT

Squeaky bum time

if we nick a Win & Hillsborough. and
Barnsley lose away at leeds
than Reading are safe.

barnsley can’t catch reading, be cos we be on 46 point . and barnsley only can level on point but reading will have better goal diffence

Snowball Remember -3 points is awarded for the worst prediction
How is this decided? If it just the prediction furthest from the actual result?

Well if Wednesday win, then the biggest Reading-win-prediciton would be the worst prediction

and vice-versa

if it's a draw, then it's the biggest win posted (could be 3-0 to Wednesday AND 3-0 to Reading (for example)

GD, goals scored is taken into consideration

so a 3-0 defeat is worse than a 3-1 defeat,
but so is a 2-0 defeat worse than 3-1

0-2 HT 0-2 FT ie Weds win. Goals 13, 29.

Like us, an injury crisis put paid to their season, but players are starting to come back now and this is a tough game.

BTW if someone posts what looks like "a silly" I don't count it

e.g. Wednesday 0-5 Reading (Barrow 5)

If it does actually happen though after you discount it, hypothetically, what would you do?

I feel like they should get triple points and a 500 word personal apology from you.

nope

The sillies are usually obvious. Winning 7-0 is less likely
than Donald Trump becoming US President.

I post them as NTD BTW and nobody (yet) has queried it
