Tilehurstsouthbank
NewCorkSeth -----------Mannone
----Ilori---Moore---Elphick
Bacuna------------------Gunter
----------Kelly---Swift
--------------Aluko
--------Bod--------Barrow

Sit back, counter attack. Nothing else has worked. Try something new.

So after Saturday's Sh!tshow you want to try Kelly and Swift in the middle again?

I would rather leak goals then see Edwards and JvdB in a starting line up. After that who else is there? I may joke about it a lot but we cant just "play the kids". We have no fit LBs so Bacuna cant be played in the centre. The entire team is unfit so nobody we play is going to make it through the whole game anyway. Besides they cant be any worse than last week and this is a 3-5-2... Much more defensively stable :?

Hound Tbf he’s toughened it up with Aluko as well :D

A sentence nobody ever thought they would hear. He wants to play central, let him play central. Then sign a replacement for him in the summer.

Coppells Lost Coat Can we agree that there is actually no correct starting line up with the players we have available. Unless Aluko suddenly has the urge to defend and track his runner AND keep close to the sideline whilst we got possession, we might be able to put a performance together.

yep agree with that. Whatever you put out is full of holes.

Still would try to drag one last performance from Edwards and Joey personally. They have the physicality and experience on paper to deal with Colin's crew. Add in any one of Kelly, Swift, Clement or Edwards to that. Put Bod and Barrow up front and hope they get a break, or Barrow can get a run on them.

Back 5 of Bacuna, Moore, Ilori, Elphick and Gunter again on paper might be good enough to claim a 0-0. Can't see it though.

Thought Ilori was decent at right back on Saturday. Therefore...

---------------Mannone---------------
Ilori---Elphick---Moore---Gunter
-----------------JVDB--------------------
-----------Kelly--Bacuna-------------
Aluko-------------------------Barrow
-------------Bodvarsson-------------

Why Joey over Dangerous Dave Edwards? There isn't a lot between them.

I don't trust Edwards any more.

Joey is mildly less turgid.

And Gunter was that good at left back you'd like him there again?

Gunter was arguably a better left back than he is right back.

Many of his better performances were at LB iirc. Why did we play Stephen Kelly out left when he was a better RB than Gunter?

What other options do we have?

Blackett is suspended, and I don't think Richards is ready for a game like this.

Richards isn't ready for a game like this? Maybe I was watching a different game, but I'm pretty sure the defence that capitulated in embarrassing fashion at the weekend didn't include him. Maybe he's injured, in which case fair enough.

I'd say there is a case for dropping any of the defence bar Richards after that game... when they decided they weren't ready for the onslaught of Ipswich Town.

Clearly you didnt watch Ilori. Hardly to blame for the first goal as Elphick, Moore, Gunter, Swift and Kelly were much more at fault.

Didn't say he was as bad as the others, just said you could make a case for any of them. Conceding 4 goals is probably enough to tell you that.

Both were so good that we lost the game 4-0.

You're as clueless and brainless as the players.

Richards has been consistently outpaced and beaten whenever I've seen him - hauled off twice at half-time as a result.

I don't think he's ready.

Get the feeling Richards hasn't been fit - and got injured again on Saturday

Either way, think Bacuna RB and Gunter LB is the way to go for this one

Interesting point re: Gunter.

Isn't he a huge Cardiff fan? Not that I want to doubt the professionalism of our Chris, but that's got to stick in the back of his mind, surely?

Wouldn't imagine so with Gunter. He can be accused of many things but one thing you can't knock is his professionalism and commitment to the club.
