Having Meite back fit will be huge, especially if we've got Bod fit at the same time.

Now if we just had fit centre backs... although Osho and McIntyre don't seem to have done any worse than Moore, Ilori and O'Shea to be fair.

I was impressed with Osho and hope he starts against Millwall. I don’t see why Moore or Ilori just walk back into the side when fit. Still worried about Richards defensively. Not convinced by him but we have so few options at left back.
We really miss Meite’s physical presence. I would rather not play Baldock at all than stick him upfront as a lone striker.

3points I assume Andresson will be available from 1 January as well?

For Viking yes, for Reading no.

In theory we have loads of options at left back - we just have a massive injury crisis and many of them are not hugely inspiring, whilst competent. Blackett (obviously stuck at CB right now), Obita (obviously been out for ages), Gunter (plays better there than RB - but injured), Yiadom (not as good as at RB and needed at RB anyway) and Richards (not really there yet particularly defensively).

Having Meite or Bod up top is really key to our shape having a chance to work. Without them we don't have a focus and we're left insipid in attack. And it's hard to play two upfront, for example Baldock and McNulty, because we don't really have wingers who are capable of creating and not leaving us easily overrun. Or a particularly solid midfield - though Rinomhota has helped.

If we can ever get all the players we want to use actually fit, we could have a pretty good side. Our fitness record is destroying us though, so if there's one good bit of rumoured news it's that Gomes may be shaking up the fitness coaching (and medical staff?)

One other option is to keep Yiadom at left back and put Bacuna to right back. Overall though getting a quality left back in January has to be a priority. In fact I think we should get 3 left backs in to cover for the inevitable injuries.

Yes, hopefully a positive for us that, and not due to the fact he is going to be out for a significantly longer period

Assuming If they aren’t taking him, mid Jan may be as good as we’ll get

Yesterday I had an operation to insert 2 metal plates into the front of my head as during my debut I had a nasty head clash- but was able to play on. A scan later showed I had fractured the front of my skull. The op was successful & I should be back in 5 weeks time
