Don’t know it’s been mentioned yet but Gunter is out for the start of the season after injuring his thigh.

Gunter never gets injured, this is pretty surreal.

Just as well this new pre season schedule and training regimen is in place, so all this won’t be a season long issue

Well, that makes a new lb a little more urgent.

Hopefully by the time he's fit Yiadom and Richards are cemented in the team and Obita is almost back.

I'd quite like to never see him play for us again.

Sutekh Chris Gunter will miss the first 3-6 weeks of the season due to a thigh injury.

More accurate than you could ever realise, Paul:

Paul Clement "Gunter has a thigh injury, he got the injury trying to block a cross. It is very unlike him. It is going to be 3 to 6 weeks."

It's unlike Gunter to try and block a cross, usually he'll make it easy for the opposition winger to swing one in. Probably why he's injured, not used to it.

From the official site (as at 8 pm Thursday):

9 hours ago - in the article ludicrously titled "We're fit and strong and ready to go"
Leandro Bacuna and John O’Shea are good, fit for selection.

6 hours ago - in the article "Ahead of the game"
Clement confirmed that John O'Shea, Anssi Jaakkola, Chris Gunter and Dave Edwards are all injury absentees for Friday's game

So, what happened between 11 am and 2 pm? Can't believe he managed to block a cross.

And Aluko picked up an injury in training. Not thought to be serious but believe he is due for a precautionary scan just to be sure.

I'll cry about it later

Possible hammy for Barrow tonight, that will be a huge blow. Meite off near the end, not sure about that one. seriously short of wide players as it stands.
I heard Popa was quite close to fitness.

Rinomhota was the only booking for Reading last night.

Meite picked up a knock and will be assessed today but it is thought it's just an impact injury and may well be clear for Saturday.

Big issue is Barrow. Due a full assessment today. Suspected groin problem but just have to wait and see how serious.

was disappointed Popa didnt at least make the bench last night. Would have been an ok replacement for Barrow

saw him knocking about outside the ground before the stadium. He is very short.

Bod is a decent winger, probably better than he is at CF

I’d agree with this but don’t reckon his crossing much cop.
