I think derby is a good start actually. I personally think Lampard has taken on one of the hardest jobs in the league. I think unless derby invest heavily they could struggle a bit this year. They have a very ageing squad and I think last year was the last hurrah for a lot of there players. I saw a stat somewhere that I0 of the 11 players who started in the play offs for them are over 32 years old. If they don’t invest in some younger players soon it could be a very slippery slope.

tidus_mi2 I still remember the last time we played Birmingham on the last game of the season...

Played them on the last day twice in the last 10 years. Reading lost both games. On each occasion though the away side ended up promoted.....

windermereROYAL Wondering why there`s a batch of games on Wednesday 18th Sept, most teams play on Tuesday usually.

New TV deal isn't it or streaming deal? Every game will be broadcast live in midweek, so splitting the games over two nights.

Yeah, actually forgot about our away defeat considering it was a dead rubber for us.

Losing at home on the final day of the 08/09 season when a win would have seen us promoted

Really pleased with the fixtures, but I can't make the 1st game of the season as it's on Friday night. Massive boo!

Hound Millwall (a) on Boxing day. Thats a bit of a shocker. Home game on NYD though

Good for me as I'm local. Not sure how trains will be coming from Reading though!

Quite possibly. Can't remember the details of the deal - is it all midweek EFL games are viewable over Sky Q/Sky Go, or just some specific midweeks (like the Amazon Prem deal)

That was bizarre. We were shit for nearly the whole of the 2nd half of the season and yet still would've been promoted with a win on the final day.

I'm abroad for the first game so the Sky coverage gets my thumbs up! Can't wait to be cheering our first win in a pair of 2008 home shorts, with gut spilling over, pint and flip flops and sunburnt back whilst cradling a handled mug of San Miguel. PUKKA!

Happy with the first game being against Derby on TV, millwall away on Boxing Day is annoying as the one day a year I don't consider going football. Really see how northern this league is

Green Norwich is deceptively far North TBF.

One of those places that is always further away than you think it is in the car. Like Brighton.

Brighton's ground is only 20 minutes drive from home, always seems too close especially as I work in the city

You're expecting the bars in Spain to show a Championship game? ;)

Something wrong with the fixtures for Reading. Two local away derbies between xmas and new year then a home game on NYD itself. Have the FL dropped a clanger?

Also Easter's a bit late. 19th April (Good Friday) Bristol City away and WBA at home on 22 April (Easter Monday) - how long before Reading switch that to Tuesday night though

As opposed to us with our young exciting players O Shea, McShane, Mcleary, Kermigan and Gunter

1- you could not find 10 players over 32 in our squad.
2- only 3 of those players are over 32. Mcshane (32), o'shea (36) Kermorgant (36).
3- also you knob Jockey Gunter is only 28.

so what is your point exactly......

What a great advert for Championship football it will be, can't wait for everyone to moan about how tinpot we are because our ground is empty.

I'm feeling optimistic ahead of this season. I've already booked my train tickets for our first away trip to Nottingham Forest.
