Relegation

by Reading4eva » 28 Jul 2018 22:26

Hope to look back on this thread in May and say how wrong I got it. However I don't think I will be.

Managed to watch the game on a stream. Poor, just poor. Rudderless without a clue. Losing in pre season isn't the be all and end all however you want to see signs that there is some progress, some ideas that need tweaking.

At the moment we look a mess of parts, Barrow the exception. I'm sorry to say it but finishing in 21st this season would be an achievement with a squad so void of ideas

Palace look so much better. Yes they are Premier League however we look like we made them look exceptional.

I think it's difficult to tell in a pre season friendly.

I'm not overly hopeful but I don't believe we will get relegated but I do think we will be near that area.

I'm saying 18th finish.

I hope your right mate. It would be amazing to have a season come out of the blue like 2016/17. Finishing in the top 10 would match that for me as although we finished low in 2015/16 we were not as bad as last season. Most seasons we would have been relegated

It would. Although even then, not everyone enjoyed it. Even after finishing 17th and 19th the two years prior. Right now, though, I’d take that in a heartbeat.

Nah I think Bournemouth will just about stay up.

I think we’ll click eventually and be relatively comfortable

But yeah not overly optimistic at the moment

Tbf we got ripped apart by one very special player yesterday imo - as the Palace fans noted he was just too good for us

We're more likely to struggle than not, but the difference between 12th and 22nd is minimal in the Championship.

Way too early to call what sort of a season we'll have.

Unless we see 2 or 3 good signing this must be our worst pre-season ever

Everyone seems to be a little pessimistic right now. Swansea seem to be worse off than us. We'll be fine! Nothing exciting will happen to us this season but we won't be relegated.

It's hard to get excited about this season. Just seen FourFourTwo have predicted us to be the strongest team in the Championship this season... in that we will finish 24th and be holding everyone else up.

I'd have said before at least if we started slowly we can sort it out during August but we don't even have that luxury this year.

Sorry to say it but I'm concerned we are fcuked

How can Bolton not be favs?

Iirc this is the 4-4-2 that gave us about 20-1 to win the league in july 2005

I'd be very surprised to see the table finish like that!

Way too early to be talking about going down but not optimistic about anything other than a season of struggle. Some like Derby, Forest and Stoke look really strong but there are plenty in this division who haven’t spent much on strengthening their squad,

There’s plenty of sides that look pretty weak to me

I don’t think the promoted clubs will be up to much, Ipswich, QPR, Bolton, Bristol C, Sheff Weds and Utd, Hull, Millwall, Birmingham and Norwich could all end up being pretty terrible imo

Really think so much is about starting the season well
