One thought, why is he not our captain?
Clearly on the pitch he is always the team's leader but maybe he really isn't the team player that we all think of him as otherwise he would surely have picked up the captain's armband ahead of the toothless Gunter last season?.

He should have been made our captain last season for sure. Impossible for him to do it now after what happened this summer, would send the wrong message.
uhuh

Poor decision and he's effectively laughing at every single supporter whilst wearing the armband. Only sour note on what was a good night for the club.

Of those who were playing, who would you have made captain instead? Yiadom is about the only one I can think of, and he's been at the club 5 minutes.

I like Ilori as a player but he shows zero leadership skills. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard him on the pitch.

Moore was vocal and helping the back 4 last night. He is clearly the best captain at the club. Need to get over the transfer request nonsense. Whilst he is here, need to make best use of him

Moore is utter class. Gave his all again in what is sadly now a second rate competition. So he wants to move to the PL, big deal so do all players not already there - as long as he's still delivering on the pitch who cares.

Agree about Ilori. I think it's reaching a bit to say Moore is the best captain at the club though. When the chips were down, last season, he did nothing to help - and when this season looked like it was going to be tough, he tried to leave. He was, IMO, the best option available last night. But we've got no idea how good he'd be when things are going very badly.

The Chronicle guys on Twitter teasing a "very interesting development" about Liam Moore being in the paper on Thursday.

Would imagine if it is anything of any real note, it will appear somewhere else before then.

no issue with him wanting to better himself and get away from a basket case club like this has been since he arrived
no issue with him staying and playing either

If we stay away from a game or two do you think we will get a reduction in the cost of our season ticket?

Would usually be shocked by such a venomous response but looking at this/his thread opener I'm inclined to agree with you! :D

OR - his release clause is set at a significant level, which means less speculation swirling around, as it would need serious money to buy him. And if he does go, there will be a fair whack of money to pay for a replacement.

There's no way they'll offer a contract that has a lower release clause than what they turned down from Brighton.
