Ex Players

by Sutekh » 22 Aug 2018 17:16

Thinking let's have an ex players/managers thread detailing what happens to former players/managers, stories, reminisces and what becomes of them generally. Should help with those often "whatever happened to" moments.

Three to start...

Jem is now at Millwall
Steve Sidwell has retired
Stephen Quinn has joined Burton Albion

If it's a worthwhile thread, let's make it sticky.

That's an excellent signing for Burton if he stays fit. I had no idea

Adie Williams is on the radio most days, on match days Mick Gooding can also be heard.
Phil Parkinson is manager of Bolton Wanderers in case anyone didn't recognise him at the weekend.
Andy Bernal is in the bushes, not to be confused with #Bushwatch although that # does fit in quite well with what he was doing

It seems a shame that someone who gave so much out on the park should end up selling sandwiches for a living, especially at his age. Mind you, he may be making good money.

This is a fascinating article - always wondered why it didn’t work out that Rodgers season when he started so well.

What a player he was. Not the best job but I heard he earns a good crust.

Agreed. We had lots of players in his position but it was still weird that he dropped off completely.

Crikey. That's one hell of a read. At least he's found a way out of the spiral and is making something of his life now.

I remember being pretty miffed when he just stopped figuring completely, having started so well. That was a very interesting article, and I'm glad he is out of it now and helping others.

Graham Potter is now rebuilding Swansea into a good side and is gonna be an excellent manager that we missed out on. (Sorry I had to throw that in)

No I meant he has only been in charge of Swansea for 4 games. Bit early to say he is excellent.

Ah I seeee. Yeah, I know but Im just impressed with what he achieved previously and the fact Swansea could have been easily where Stoke are after the disarray they seemed in at the end of last season.
