New chant

by CountryRoyal » 30 Aug 2018 09:43

Sorry I know this is the height of tinpottery but I heard this and thought it would sound really good.

Lucky lucky lucky me, I don’t care about anything,
I work 8 hours, I sleep 8 hours, the rest is for Reading

Ad infinitum. To the tune of.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cgoZV2yRo54

I know it won’t happen because the few people that can be bothered to turn up to games can barely even muster a couple of renditions of Blue Army. Just thought I’d share anyway.

I’ll get my coat.

The irony of singing about working 8 hours a day when the players can’t manage to work for 90 mins twice a week

Perhaps we need to try something less imaginitive to get the fairweather fans to sing. Maybe follow the lead of Watford fans and just chant the name of the club over and over again.

Hmmmm, I'm just hoping this thread will at long last be the trigger for all those long lost HNA, very much missed and erudite subscribers to come flooding back to the forum in their droves.

Good luck with that. An away game is usually a good place to start getting something to catch on.

Cool. I’ll try and get it going at Preston hopefully one or two of the other 80 fans might join in.

You could probably wander round and ask them individually.

No, no, no. The song’s no good.
OK, It does mention Reading, but where are all the bits about shooting bastard Robins, stabbing people, Oxford, Swindon etc.
You know - all the type of lyrics that show you support your football team and players and gives them inspiration.
Get it right.
