I'm keeping my RTG firmly on.

Hardly a shock. Same in most forms of life, bad news gets people more engaged.

Yep, agreed.

CountryRoyal Is it not common sense that a loss or poor performance evokes more debate, dissection and analysis than the opposite? Far more to talk about than “yep played well today. That’s more like it”.

That just seems obvious.

You'd think so, and most clubs' fan forums would reveal same. Oh, and the 'I'm RTG' mixed in, too.

Have we just been so annoyed with the terrible performances from the last 12 odd months we just vent on the BFTG threads so much? It also happens on the match threads, when we won last season a couple of games they were only 4 or 5 pages deep. When we lost some were pushing 20.

Magic Hat With the exception of Blackburn, don't the lower page counts coincide with away games? it's only Monday moring, Hull will rack up a few more.

Yes this is all it is. And also that one of the wins was a long away trip where not many fans went (although I did). Also the likes of Club 1871 weren't either, so this means numbers on the forum dwindle when unable to give a first hand opinion of the match.

Ranting, releasing steam and analysing the reasons for failure are valid, but I think that there is also a psychological benefit in coming online to share your disappointment with fellow Hobnobers. It's said that misery loves company and that's because when you are depressed or upset, having someone who shares the same feeling just makes you feel better.

I would guess that if you think back, after you have had your say and seen how also others also are fedup, you do leave the site feeling that bit better.

Of course it's good also to celebrate a win, but it's not so needed as "sharing" with fellow Hobnobers the upset of a loss.

It’s a fair point. It suggests some posters only decide to post to complain about the club. Miserable oxf*rd. I was surprised more didn’t post after the Hull game which turned out to be really enjoyable.

You'd need to turn up to have an opinion.
