paultheroyal i thought the standard of football on show was truly woeful, from both teams.

Not actually true though, is it? Brentford were very good in the first half and we played some decent stuff at the start of the 2nd leading to the Swift free kick. Game became frantic near the end of course as Brentford chased it but thats natural.

Would not say Brentford were very good, they just utilised our weak areas.

Using the word frantic pretty much sums up both teams performance really.

I am considering the seating section next season because the view from the terrace is so bad and full of day trippers it's embarrassing. I saw none of them at Preston this season or places like Hull last season. Wonder why that is?

Not too sure on the Ezatolahi love-in either. He was alright but hardly anything to write home about? Thought we worked hard as a team but could see the equaliser coming a mile off as soon as the board was held up showing 10 mins.

Why didn't Hull or Preston utilise our weak areas? Because they are poor sides. Brentford were very sharp in the first half, probably the best team I have seen so far this season in terms of energy and movement. They will be in the playoffs or narrowly just miss out, top side.

I'm with OMA. Brentford played very well in the first half and look a good team. They move the ball with real purpose and looked dangerous throughout.

Great result for us even if we only came away with a point no one would have expected anything from this game a few weeks ago.

Positives:
Swift, Meite & Bod played well
Our Iranian man was solid in midfield again (sign him up now or in Jan on a free) as a result Bacuna seems to be getting a lot more joy in the middle of the park
Walker seems to be settling into the side with every game
We look dangerous going forward particularly out wide
What a turnout at The Griffin, the landlord's face every time a Reading chant started.

Negs:

The bald middle aged idiot in the terrace gloating and looking to pick fights with particular fans just because they weren't at Preston away (seriously get over yourself!)

The same 12 year old idiots on the train as the ones who let off the flare last year requiring a police escort back to Reading. (Embarrassing the club as per usual, ohh sorry you're hard in your fake Stone Island jackets!)

Aluko - Even with 5 minutes of being on the pitch as a sub he was woeful and the sooner we get rid the better, when is someone going to tell him that he is an awful set piece taker? Never want to see him on a free kick again.

Hmmm, not sure if I told you but I was at Preston away and I saw no middle aged bald men doing the same there...methinks this guy is a fraud and he therefore must go.

I've got a full head of hair thank you. Not that you'd notice it under my Stone Island cap and hood with goggles

What were the odds and how much did you make? Assume you placed a bet?

I can't afford (or have the time) to go to many away games, but my old man supported Brentford (when he was alive, less so now), so I try to make a special effort to try and get to Griffin Park each season. Is that OK?

Brentford wont make play offs, we wont get relegated.

Our Persian Pogba will be a shrewd loan and will go some way to shore up our midfield but boy oh boy, we need to work out how to cut out these crosses and balls across the box, we were so lucky we were not 3 down at half time. Wasn't just Gunter this time but Yiadom was done many a time.

Walker looks shaky on crosses and needs to improve although Bentley will be utterly embarrassed with his performance.

Best honest assessment I've read. I think the Royal Pogba may have saved Clements bacon. He is exactly what we needed.
I don't think we will go down now......There's some sh*te down there. We are still shipping too many soft goals though. Was also disappointed that with 14 minutes to go we created nothing against 10 men. The odd little overload would have been nice.

Simply an improvement on the available options is something to be happy about. Rebuilding the team is going to take some time.

Didn’t rate Walker late on. Low cross in from right, he dives and misses it (gathering would have been nice). Defender scrambles it away for a corner (from which they score). Corner comes in, starts to go for it, changes mind, doesn’t get there, no mans land, leaves goal exposed, they score. May have cost us 2 pts, hard to score 3 away in order to win. Not sure with other keepers if that’s a goal. Don’t know if he’s good keeper yet, game changer/winner/difference maker. His height/length has to count for something and pay dividends there. Big unit, but looked nervy/tentative (to me), routine efficiency going forward, please.
That said, you shouldn’t lose a header in your own box in injury time esp when you are a goal up away. We lost two on 1 corner.

Should you lose a header in the box any other time then?

I don’t think it’s quite possible to ensure you win every header. Did wonder a little bit what was going on with the winning header - looks like Moore is just sent flying - but then no real complaints from the players. Unlike Moore to get beaten physically like that

He just had a decent run on Moore and he was stationary due to being on the line. So he went through him, no real foul.
A little annoyed at for the 1st, watching on the replays it is such a poor goal to concede. I would say the entire back 4 has a share of blame.

I just couldn't work out how you could leave yourself in a position where you leave the most dangerous striker in the league unmarked in your 6 yard box, it was completely inept defending that has been largely ignored due to the improved overall display.

Looks like moore shapes up to attack the ball and challenge Barbet, However the near post corner is flicked over Walker!! (??) so Moore has to cover. The 2 goals were definitely poor to concede and very frustrating to watch back.
Both Swifts attempts for the goals have been overlooked by their keepers efforts but tbf both very decent efforts which forces the errors.
