Coppells Lost Coat I feel Meite should only be leading the line if we intend to put crosses in. He is wasted if we are playing to feet as the balls just bounce off his feet if its fizzed into him.
An out of form Kelly v Meyler who hasn't played or impressed?? Think Kelly will keep his place for this one but dropped soon as Eza is definitely fit. Rather we dont risk players atm as our record with injuries being elongated is quite special.

Agree on Meite.
McCleary will put crosses in. Yiadom may do, if he's played on the right, but not if he's on the left, where he tries to cut inside too much. Barrow doesn't put crosses in, nor does Aluko. Blackett doesn't put enough crosses in, but maybe last game will encourage him.

I'd be happy to see the same line up again, but I'm worried that McCleary might not be a starter, having done 60 minutes on Saturday, and not being fully match fit. I hope if he doesn't start, it's Sims that comes in for him.

If Aluko starts I'll be raging!

BBC get it wrong again

Anssi Jaakkola is likely to remain in goal for Reading after he started Saturday's 3-1 victory over Millwall.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (calf), Sam Baldock (calf) and John O'Shea (hamstring) missed that game and are all doubtful.

tch, it was his knee that caused him to miss the game.

We shouldn't accept anything other than a win tonight. We are off the back of a good win, granted Brum won at Stoke on Saturday but this is 3 points we really need against a dross side near us currently. Will be important to kick on and make Clement's job safe.

I’d take a point tonight and the same against Swansea. We then have two winnable home games against Bristol City and Ipswich although with our home form we can never be confident. If we could come out of this batch of four games with eight points we would be pretty much mid table and be clear of the bottom three.

I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with the parody Twitter account @Y26Ultras, but they're currently being investigated by West Midlands and Thames Valley Police because of their tweets over the last few days, and all Reading fans attending tonight's game will be fully searched as a result

Tbf, they are unbeaten in 9 games so a point would be just fine.

Meyler and Mcnulty drop out of the squad to accomodate Bodvarsson and O'Shea's return. Got to say, that 11 looks decent enough but what happens if we need a bit of physicality in midfield? Rinomhota isn't exactly big, so am a bit disappointed with that. Still no Barrow, he's a goner me thinks

Hull

Can’t argue with the side really but agree the midfield looks a little flimsy as it always does with that trio

Oh, and if we need any evidence that someone is leaning on PC to play Aluko....

I have absolutely no doubt that PC does not want Aluko anywhere near the side - harsh on McNulty - who he has regularly brought on - to have to drop out to accommodate him

So presumably:

.....................Jaakkola
...Yiadom, Ilori, Moore, Blackett
................Bacuna, Kelly
Meite............, Swift.............., Sims
..................Bodvarsson

Great to see Bod back, sensible to rest McCleary, good to see Sims getting time. Unlucky for Baldock ... maybe him, McCleary and Bod being eased back in slowly, one game in a week?

An awful lot of experience on that bench - 4 of those should really be good enough to start for most teams at this level (and are very likely compensated in that manor). Of those 4, 3 have been under-performers (maybe harsh on Baldock?) plus a slow re-introduction after long injuries from GMac.

At least its nice to have some competition for places

Definitely being eased back in - sensible, esp with those calf injuries

Need bod and Baldock fit. Good strike partnership if they are

Yep, almost got a clear first XI now. We could be half decent fully fit.
