Marshall is accidently now getting himself into a good position. If he is in charge for Middlesbrough and we pick up a win I think he gets it until the end of the season. Really would worry me in the January window though, can't see the owners trusting him with any cash. Might be a case of just doing enough to stay up with what we have and then seeing which managers are available in the summer. Owners can then invest heaviliy then.

You what? Good position? You lot would be baying for blood with our last two results if Clement or Stam had been in charge.

Seems to be selecting the match day squad without fear. Easy to fill with established pros. Instead going for the players with character. Who want to pull the shirt on. The ommissions speak volumes about desire and commitment. Knowing the U23's is a definate bonus.

What omissions are there really though, most of those missing are injured.

I'm coming round to Ainsworth. Experienced, good track record with limited resources and plays decent football. It would also appear he actually wants the job. I don't see the point in continuing to chase people who aren't 100% committed to joining.

If we were prepared to give Castro a €11m contract over 5 years then I can't see an alleged £1.5m buyout clause being an issue because Ainsworth wouldn't be on anything like that.

I would rather see Marshall continuing his good work with the academy.

Meyler, Aluko, Barrow.

In a relegation dog fight. You'd normally expect the senior players to be first choices.

Fair enough, largely a continuation of Clement's policy though rather than something new.

For an example of how little money can affect the Reading manager odds, some weirdo started a rumour on Twitter about Leonardo Jardim, got about 10 likes, and now Jardim is fourth favourite at 12/1.

Ian Royal came in at 25/1 purely because someone claimed he was a youth coach at the club.

There's more chance of us getting Leonardo Di Caprio. I bet whoever started this thought that Jardim was Portuguese too.

Jardim would be a phenomenal appointment but there's about as much chance of that happening as us signing Mo Salah in the January window.

I think that's a bit harsh on OMA.
