Snowflake Royal Lol 67% and 5 shots on target... no goals. At least we didn't lose.

Gotta laugh at our heat map though. Virtually black around their box, whilst our own looks ready to combust.

5 shots on target (13 off) away is pretty decent no matter how you dress it up with heatmaps etc

Yes but the goals have dried up and that’s a worry.

Sorry, lost the love. It's not bad... although towards the end under Stam it would have been ridiculed. Really desperate not to go back to pissing about with it on the edge of our own box all game.

Actually had a look who scored, and it’s quite interesting I thought. It’s much more black around our own box Ian, and I imagine pretty standard

Our pass percentage at 84% is decent. Twice as many passes as them. Gmac and Anssi are star men apparently

It looks like a very decent performance for 70 mins, and then tired/got nervous at the end

The lack of goals is of course a big worry. But under Stam we were regularly having 0 or 1 shots on target

Meite and Bod need to get their shooting boots back on. McCleary, Swift and Barrow have to find theirs

However you look at it it is a decent result. We were without Moore, Blackett, Bacuna and Ezatolahi (and Obita, of course) and Meite and Bod were not up to match fitness. So a clean sheet and a point away to an in-form team on the edge of the play-offs is surprisingly good. Hopefully we can start scoring goals again!!

It's more the deep red in the usual places for achieving the square root of F all.

2 world wars, 1 world cup Wtf is going on?

Inform QPR Vs injury and suspension depleted reading team in horrific form playing AWAY

And we are destroying them in almost all stats

Possession
Passes
Shots
Pass accuracy

To top it all off Gooding says a neutral would say we would be the more likely to score. And Dellor says we look very comfortable and settled.

What the ****** ???

And now for the final WTF - we were all wrong! We held on against all the odds WTF.

The Gomes effect??

Tbh not going to judge til I watch a game. I think we’ve all been a bit scarred by Stam’s dullness

I’m guessing again that the FB positions are normally fairly high in terms of heatmap when a team has 70% possession.

This is sensible. Tinkered with the map for a lol. The back 5 had 388 touches, just a little shy of half our possession. For the record, QPR had 479 touches with their entire team. We had more than twice the number of passes QPR did, 150% more were backwards, less than double forwards, and less than 150% were targeted at their defensive third.

Anyway, boring.

CountryRoyal Really important to not lose. Regardless of how we may or may not have played a clean sheet and a point away from home should still be seen as a good result and an excellent, positive platform to build on.

CR, well said. Thought Richards could have won it when thru and one on one with keeper. But yes, it was encouraging, a good display and a good point away. The players seem to have more hunger and zest for the game. Even when defending, we did the dirty stuff well too, with good smart fouls at the right time, etc.

Some good performances today. McCleary, Swift, Barrow and Aluko suddenly look different players.

Lotsa work needed up front, however. Once again, opposing CB's had us in their back pockets. Little threat and little movement up there. Meite ineffective, didn't win his headers, lacked urgency. When the team behind you have done their jobs and given us a chance to win, you have to do better than that. We'll need to work opposing keepers more. Still, pretty sure Gomes will know it, and it will be another of his challenges.

Decent highlights for once

Obvs doesn’t tell the whole story but matches pretty much what Denver says. All the threat seems to come through the channels rather than the middle

Still looks like we played some good quick stuff in the approach and some nice moves

Dodgy at the back from corners still...

Ilori is a lucky boy. Poor again. First half a dreadful clearance goes straight to an opponent inside our penalty box and should have led to a goal. Second half an awful header gifts them another great chance.
Play Osho ahead of him please. He is a liability.

Tbf neither were easy to deal with. One off the line and the header wasn’t an easy one to get right. But yeah they weren’t great

I’d be amazed if Ilori isn’t one of Gomes’ first 3 names on the teamsheet, along with Swift and Rino. So may as well get used to him again

Mick was saying he thought Ilori played well.

And despite the promising performance it’s notable that the “highlights” on the radio were all QPR and no Reading.

Still too early but a good point. If this is the shape of things to come maybe it will be clearer to Gomes what we need when the window opens......I get the feeling the front men maybe playing for their futures at the minute.
