Old Man Andrews
Hound dunno, Christmas 2017 through to Stam's sacking was as bad as anything I can ever remember

The Burton game was the absolute basement. Doesn't get any lower than that.

yep, though it got compounded by the rubbish that followed in future weeks - Brentford, Birmingham, Sheff Utd etc

just looked back at the stats on that Burton game. 76% possession, 7 shots (2 on target). Ouch.

Just remember how full of hope everyone was before the game, stadium was rocking and packed out. Half of the people who bothered to come back and give the club a try were never to be seen again because Stam decided that in his mind we were playing against Barcelona that afternoon instead of Burton and that we needed to keep possession in defence in a desperate attempt to cling on for dear life.

Yep and in the case of the Sheffield game, it was nearly a quarter of the attendance of the Burton game

The Millwall and Bolton games were also devastating, and in fact last season was the only season in about 20 years I’ve ever chosen to miss a home game, it was that bad

Strange though, we actually had two real watchable games inbetween the garbage against derby and Leeds. It was all just rather strange

Hound I even quite enjoyed the period between our first 6 games and when PC got sacked

some ok games and performances in there

Same here. Brizzle, Hull, Preston, even Ipswich though a disappointing result was a fun game.

The managerial change practically destroyed the season for me, especially given how dire we were under Marshall, but Gomes has turned it around and though it took a while I'm back on board.

Could do with Brum going on a little run to help out with Wigan and Rotherham, then be safe by the time they come to us.

Difficult to see Rotherham getting more than 4 points, but if we're still on 44 our goal difference would be disappearing.
One more point means Rotherham probably have to win twice and that could be tricky.

Have I covered enough possibilities ?
Does it give away a little nervousness ?

Yep we’re certainly not safe yet. One more win required, really hope we get that sooner rather than later

According to BBC, Rotherham deserved to win at Stoke today. Only desperate Stoke defending earned them a point. 16 shots for Rotherham, too.

They are not going to go down quietly. Based on the run-in, Wigan look to be in more trouble. Definitely could do with Norwich beating them tomorrow.

I hope WBA get their play off place guaranteed before they play us, but they then have Rotherham.

We are far from safe, but today has to be considered as a good day.

I still take these things far too seriously.

One more win will definitely do it. It will mean Rotherham having to win 3 if they lose one, or gaining 2 wins and 2 draws. Cant see either happening to be honest.

Let's do it at Bristol and then watch the others fight in relative safety

Bloody hope Swansea react to their thrashing and aren't on the beach

The bookies have somewhat belatedly appreciated Wigan are in trouble. They are now 13/2 to go down. We are now 13/1 8)
Rotherham still strong favourites to drop but Wigan have really been in freefall this year. Their relegation odds remain very generous.

Basically with the goal diff, Rotherham likely need 2 wins and for us not to win any of our last 4 - so looking good seeing how similar our run ins are.

Hoping Derby can beat Brum on Friday so keeps them in touch with the bottom going into their game with Rotherham.

Agreed, Wigan may get 4 points from those fixtures at best, and in my eye's Rotherham have done an amazing job hanging in there so far and i can seeing them getting 4/5 points at best.
That would leave us needing a win to be safe, and maybe a point might do it. I really think with current form and the up turn in confidence, we should be safe before the Boro game.....fingers crossed.

Don't know why there wasn't any talk about Rotherham`s equaliser on SS that was blatantly offside.
