Only one Trevor Morley Lea Barkus

Andy Gray

Mark Holzman

All products of our great youth policy in circa 1993.

Can't agree about Mark Holtzman.
Saw him make his debut away at Man City as an 18(?) year-old when he did really well against a Premier side.
Injuries stopped him being a decent player long-term.

There are many but I agree with the Meaker poster.
He actually thought he could play and he went downhill at lightning speed after he left Reading.
They are the worst, those that cost a bit and never lived up to the money like Evers and Scott.
At least Bas didn't cost anything.

Neale Cooper or Francis Joseph for me.

Neale Cooper as he was a member of the fantastic early 80s Aberdeen side but by the time he came to us he could no longer pass water.

Francis Joseph as he was bought in as a replacement for Trev after our first season up in Div 2 and thanks to him and the other replacements for the spine of our team that was ripped out, Wood, Hurlock, Trev and Kev, was responsible for one of the worst Reading seasons in my opinion, 87/88. Forget the Simod Cup final we were pants from the first game of that season to the last.

Bas Savage
Michael O'Neill
Jason Bowen

Feel sorry for Savage as he just had nothing. The thought of O'Neill and Bowen still turns me cold.

Gray wasn't that bad. You also have to remember that he was a central midfielder who got shunted into left back because he was the best option there. The only game he played for us in his proper position was his debut at Ipswich and even then, he had to switch to left back after during the game when Legg got sent off.

Has this thread really got so far without anyone mentioning Keith Jones?!

Big Ern Robert Codner

True dat. Keith Jones put in the occasional immense performance and was just getting old, not fundamentally crap.

[quote="Nick Shorey my Lord!"]You can tell the pLOLastics on this thread.

 ok mate *yawn*... pretentious twats like you make me laugh. There is NO one that is bigger than the club itself and if you weren't there than then there would be plenty of takers to make just as much noise and give the club just as much support. You no better than any of the rest of us 24,044.

WORST PLAYER

Worst player would of been Kieth Scott but Nick Colgan gets a nod.

Michael Meaker or Sean Evers.

Also, although he wasn't truly awful, Asaba was a huge waste of 900,000 quid.

The name you are searching for is: Jack Whitham, don't be fooled by the hatrick.
For those of you naming Ollie Kearns, I'd be interested to know who you'd rather play at the time. I suspect you'd have been disappointed if Ollie wasn't on the teamsheet.

In my 5 years as a Royal, no-one really stands out.

But I never rated Ricky Newman, and when Rougier was bad he was awful.
