Worst player of the modern era: Mark Reilly:

Worst ever signing/waste of money: Sean Evers

Worst current player (through attitude rather than ability): John Halls

Worst ever employee of Reading FC: Tommy Burns

In terms of value for money(or lack of) it has to be the Goat (only mentioned once previously)
Of the people I've watched in the last 10 years..step forward John Halls.

Goater was a hugh disappointment. Savage was an embarrassment. Which reminds me of Joey Barton, who had a bareassmoment.

Gordons Cumming Strangely, not a single mention for Roger Joslyn.

Yes he came as a respected competitive midfielder who was a key part in Watford’s rise up the leagues. Ended up being a crap right back with an impressive beard. As bad as he was not the worst player but would make my worst 11.

Ashfordroyal Norfolk,
got to agree with you, Ollie Kearns, however I dont think it all unfair to call him "the worst".
Can you remember when we were attacking the town end, he tried to play a ball round a defender, over hit it, lost control, then made out he had made a brilliant pass, because by coincidence, our right back was overlapping. Fc@king hilarious!
And you are also spot on about, the arse, the elbow etc. if he ever had a good chance, a clear clean shot, he skyed it over the bar.
Ohhh, happy days!

Don't remember the incident you describe specifically but probably witnessed it. One I always remember was when a low cross came over to Ollie in space in front of goal for a relatively easy chance. He swung at it with his left foot, completely missed, then his left leg twizzled around his body and he collapsed.

The whole year inn
Einstein agogo you should rename this worst player you've seen play for reading , because lets face it , we are all far too young to remember all the players over the years...there could have been some really crap players in the 1923/24 season..who knows.. any 100 year old fans on here????

Anyone that did not see Reading in 1923/24 is a PLOLastic

jimmy martin 1960's ball on goaline but still managed to put to over the bar

The correct answer is still Mark Whitlock and until we sign Stephen Hawking, nick the battery from his wheelchair and force him to play centre back, it always will be.

Henley Royal 1 the winger who played at start of Coppell era cant think of his name.

Paul Brooker or Scott Murray? I'd have thought Brooker, who was a useless streak of piss, whereas Murray just didn't like leaving Bristol.

As I recall, Brooker used to bottle 70-30s in his favour and barely ever beat his man or put a decent cross in.

Only got to page 3 (ooo-eerrrr) and can hardly restrain my excitement.....

Ollie certainly wasn't the worst. 1 in 2 scoring average and ran rampant around Chrimbo in a thumping 7-0 win against Barnsley with Parky watching in the stands. He wasn't best pleased when he walked into the Bird in Hand in Sonning Common on the Monday lunchtime.... :-)

Joslyn was gash. Evers a waste of (an incredible amount) of dough.

Lemon - yes, he was just that Strap.

Colin Gordon - forgiven for the double at the Bridge.

There was a right back on loan in the Burns era - so bad I can't even recall his name.

Burville was pretty oxf*rd. Rooster was a 'heart on the sleeve' so he gets away with it.

The worst for me was: Mark Giacometti (sp??) So bad that when McGhee brought him on as a sub half way through the second half at Bradford in mid week, he tugged him off (ooo-eeerrrr.... again) about ten minutes later....

Can Daniel Carriço get mention? noted he went on to better things but was utterly terrible when he played for us.

Obviously the usual suspects:

Keith Scott
Royston Drenthe
Mass Sarr
Brian Howard was terrible.
Did not rate Matty Robinson (even if that makes me "plastic" )
Thought Paul Bowdin was dogtoss for us too.
