Suggestion for the Forum

by readingbedding » 25 Jan 2007 19:31

I was wondering whether all these external Reading FC player/manager/chairman Interview links could be in held in a catagory on it's own on this forum?
More and more interviews are now being carried out by our players in the press and it would be useful to have them in one area.
Not necessarily match reports but Interviews.

Not a bad idea now actually given that teh number of interviews is rising massively. Perhaps a media section?

But having said that this is a team forum and interviews with team members are probably the most relevant sort of post on this forum. ? I don't know. Good thought.

Is this the right forum for making suggestions about the forum?

Thinking a bit more about it...

You could list all the squad/manager/backroom/chairman and have the relevant links attached to the particular person.

Of course you could talk about it in the team forum, but having a library of interviews would make for good reading.

Good idea, but it would need someone to administrate it. Are you volunteering rb?

I don't think administering it would take up a lot of time.
Just copy and paste the link onto the appropriate person's field, with a brief explanation of what was on the link.
Developing it would take time though I guess.

It might be too much trouble, but I thought I'd ask.

Good idea, whether or not it happens, I'm sure if needed appropriate chanegs will be on their way. I guess HNA will have been thinking/ will be thinking about how to cope with many more fans and thus many more threads etc etc

I wonder by what extent our hitrate/ member count/ post count has changed now we're in the Prem?

Excellent idea, a media section is the way forward, Links to interviews, and discussion about link.

And while Graham is at it perhaps a match section for chat about games only, some good team stuff drops away after the weekly Coppell out threads.

It would be possible to have an archive forum whereby moderators can move good stuff into long term storage.

The Board Announcements forum is an example of this.

Good idea.Something similar could be achieved by starting a thread titled something like..."Royals media links" or somesuch. Given the frequency of such stuff these days the thread would be bumped up pretty regularly .

It would also be a cool idea to have a hob nob photo gallery or something of a similar nature.

Would it be worth running a poll?

Bad idea, it would kill the Team forum.

I don't think it would, it would just be an area for all these links to go into.

An archive library, a scrapbook, not a conversation forum.

If you wanted to could hear an BBC Audio file, or read a Newspaper interview of something to do with Reading in October 2006 for example you could then click on there and read away.

Of course recent ones could be introduced here in the Team Forum and talked about, old ones too.
What I'm talking about is archiving these links rather than letting them drift off 10 pages down.

Yeah I don't think a poll would kill the forum.

I think its a bad idea, most users dont realise there is more than one forum as it is.

wicked - another area for people to be pedantic about

I can see it now - someone posts a link here to a good article about the Team, the promptly get's balled out about it for not posting it in the Media section. Go HNA.
