Knees Up Mother Brown!

by OldBiscuit » 05 Apr 2007 22:22

Looking through the thread about songs for this Saturday, and to be honest they all seem a little tired/unoriginal/predictable/shit/giving us a small time image/offensive etc. So why not rekindle that 'all time terrace great' the near forgotten 'Knees up Mother Brown'!!!
Can you imagine the panic amongst the Stewards if this one got going again. Everybody jumping up and down together singing a pointless old pub song, knocking over the people around you, and generally creating chaos.
How about a practice on the concourse under Y25 at about 2.50pm. (Best tried after a couple of lagers). Bring your dancing boots!!!!!!!!

Are you drunk? I didn't make too much sense of that.

Isn't that a West Ham song? It's certainly the name of their equivalent of HNA - http://www.kumb.co.uk

Yes it is the name of their website, but their song is bubbles.
Obviously, kumb is an old London drinking song, but it was adapted to the terraces in the late 60's and 70's, and was, and still is the greatest ever football stomp.

I'd be up for singing along to it. People who still aren't over the whole West Ham/Pardew thing should really be hung drawn and quartered. Happened ages ago now, and who knows, could actually be different to all the other songs we sing which are just conventional songs with a void where team name goes. Even the loyalest loyalest fans sound plastic whenever they sing Kevin Doyle what a bargain etc etc.

I don't think it was anything to do with that.
