You're getting there Coppell. Well done for putting Fae on but now you just need to get Convey on.

However, I maintain all this is 15/20 mins too late.

1630: "Reading look out of sorts, something's going on there and I can't quite put my finger on it."
BBCi Score's Lee Dixon

Insightful

winchester_royal coppell seems to have lost the plot,

...is this the first appearence of the stock phrase of the 606 caller?

Reading struggle, so Coppell is suddenly a rubbish boss?

The problem for me, is two-fold.

1) we've lost the hunger of last season. It isn't so much a case up effort as the players just not being up for the fight.

2) we're creating almost nothing. The players don't look they believe they are going to score. It means players' heads drop the moment they go a goal down.

Combine points 1 & 2 and you have a recipe for relegation. The defeat to West Ham was a relegation performance, and the losses at Bolton and today (assuming nothing remarkable happens in the next 20 minutes) don't sound any better.

We'd played really well at Old Trafford and for the first half v Chelsea, so we are certainly capable of doing a lot better, but the moment Chelsea went a goal up we kind of gave up and have had no spark since.

If we are still getting beaten like this when the line up is

Hahnemann
Rosenior--Ingimarsson--Sonko(or Bikey)--Shorey
Oster--Fae--Harper--Convey
Doyle--Lita

I agree. Remind me why we can't play that side?

Oster's injured and a few might not yet be fit.

Another injury and what then?

cmonurz I picked these problems pre-season. We have a Championship squad that performed to an incredible level last season. Now we are in trouble.

You and about 50 others of us, don't make out you have some superior input. It was echoed on here by many a voice, including myself.

1633: A miserable afternoon for Reading is summed up when Stephen Hunt finds himself in a good position in the box but allows the ball to dribble over his foot.

All I can take from this is a slight snigger at the BBC reporter's surname.

Grow up sonny, it's not a competition. I put 'I' because 'I' did, that's all. ROFLangers.

Has anyone got a scan of the letter that accompanied the season ticket renewals last year.

I want to read the phrase again about ambition and plans for the future.

I'm not sure why, but our activity over the summer and our insistence on trying to lower the wages situation in the Premiership from a lonely corner of Berkshire seems to feel to the contrary to that letter.

The texts from workmates have already started........

Convey almost scored there. Could have had Hunt at the far post.

I think that's what second season whatever boils down to. The players have made it, what else is there to fight for?

A move to a bigger club?
