I can't believe all the posts criticizing Fearn. Is Chelsea a step down for him? Is he being offloaded due to a catalogue of errors? No, one of the biggest clubs in the country has come after him after recognizing his ability. I can confidently say that that counts for far more than the rants on a football board where people know very little about football injuries.

+1

Only on Hobnob would someone leaving for a bigger, better paid job be so micro-analysed and so misinterpreted by people with so little knowledge of the realities.

He's only going because we can no longer afford a top quality physio

So welcome to his replacement, another quality signing from JM to underline the ambition to return to the top level

had Mourinho as his reference apparently.

Seriously, his job has hit its pinnacle, good luck to the fellah.

Just sad to see one of the few remaining "good-times-guys" (legs an all) moving on

Thanx for working your notice Jon

Deathy Physio John Fearn Is apparently off to Chelsea.

Hope he's got a ticket as I don't think it's pay on the day.

If this means we get to see Becky Brown back on the pitch then I hope we get a few injuries soon.

Do we have a cleaner or something to take over once he goes? I can't believe the club have a properly qualified and experinced individual lined up to step in. It's not the Reading way.

The person who worked under Jon for many years is stepping up to take the job apparently.

I think Luke Anthony, the Academy physio is taking over Fearn's job and prior to joining Reading he was Watford's first team Physio so he has some experience at this level. I'm sure Watford wouldn't fob us off with anyone who wasn't world class.

All physios have Physio 20 stats on Football Manager - I'm sure the new physio will be the same.

Luke is Reserve physio, and Matt Hiron will step up from the Academy into his role, and a new Academy physio will be hired from the outside ( already done I think). So good bit of planning.

Fair enough. But who'll be the sports scientist? That's a crucial job.
