ESPN CLASSICS

by Jackson Corner » 17 May 2010 12:41

If you have this channel and can bear to watch it they are showing the 95 play off final. It's the first time I have watched the game since that day and two things I hadn't rememberd through my tear filled eyes before. Bolton's third was scored in time added on in the first perion of extra time, whilst the 4th was clearly hand ball before he stuck it in the net.

Should MacAteer have been sent off when he gave away the penalty?
I don't think the law has changed since then.

I was 14 at the time and over the years have forgotten the match itself (apart from the key decisions :x ) so will be an interesting watch and certainly be good to see the players from that team once again.

I was in Spain on the day of this game.....tried finding a bar that had the game live but i believe it was being shown on ITV so nobody had it. Ended up listening on the radio after persuading the bar owner to put it on.

Recorded it at home and I have NEVER seen past the first half, i dont even know what the Bolton goals were like!

Owen bloody Coyle scored if I remember rightly

I was only 9, missed 1 of our goals as I was in the toilet and missed Quinny's as I was crying

Yes he got the first about 20 mins from the end. Without doubt the worst I have felt after a game due to the manner it was lost. I wonder how we would have done in the Prem at Elm Park if we had gone up - would we have been able to play there - not sure what all seater rules were back then.

Bolton played at Burnden Park until 1997

Is it just highlights? Shit. That game was amazing. I had it on VHS and watched it over and over. Even the second half...

I believe it had been agreed that if we'd won promotion we would have used Loftus Road as our home ground the following season - it was certainly mooted at the time.

As a general thing I never tend to watch a whole game again or even extended highlights. For me once you know what happens etc it takes away the interest...

However if its a game from 15 years ago that I can barely remember then yeah I'll give it a watch (unless it's this one...)

Missed it, oh well. Their schedule is saying it hasn't got the game on again this evening.

Reason i wanted to see it was because that was my first ever RFC game and i didn't really understand the beautiful game properly at the age of 10.
