STAR Membership 2016-17 now open

by STAR Voice » 01 Jul 2016 13:49

STAR Membership for next season is now open and available online at http://www.star-reading.org

Membership is still £10 adults, £5 concessions as it has been for the past decade or more.

The benefits are almost exactly the same - access to coach travel, fans forums, 10% at Megastore voucher, 20 Royalty points on your account, free Reading Matter.

Support for STAR in what will be a changed and possibly challenging environment at RFC will be much appreciated in 2016-17.

LWJ IN for the points

G'boy.

Regular away fans like yourself might be pleased to know that STAR has successfully petitioned the club to award as many Royalty Points for attending away matches as home matches from this season. Even Bris City.

Worth the £10 membership fee, great job! Thanks :D

Would this be 10 points for home/away? Or 5?

Believe it's 10 for both now; haven't seen anything written down yet.

Dear STAR, when you next have a management meeting with the club can you raise the issue of the clubs kits and why it takes so long to get the things set up, revealed, made and available to buy. Many clubs of equal and lesser stature to Reading have their kits out early in the summer yet Reading are forever waiting until early July just to be able to see the design, and this season until god knows when, and even longer to be able to buy.

Just as an additional thought some clubs come up with 2 or 3 designs towards the end of a season which fans then vote on. While not necessarily binding, the result would give the club an indication of which designs would be the most popular.

It seems to be a traditional part of the Reading Way now and nothing we say ever on this issue ever seems to have any effect. Odd.

Not entirely sure on that front, haven't bought tickets for it yet. I know last year for Espanyol we did get points.

Sebastian While STAR and LWJ are on the same thread, could I ask if known hooligans are allowed on STAR coaches? What measures do STAR take to protect decent, family friendly fans from our resident 'top boy'?

I thought he got off, didn't he? Wasn't there some sort of bet about this?

A reformed character I understand and he brings an apple for the driver every trip.

It's illegal to bring alcohol, or be drunk, on a coach going to / returning from a football match, whether it's run by STAR or anyone else.

Sorry, Bobby, you'll have to make do with a Sedan chair manned by offenders doing their community service. Leave now and you should make the second half at Newcastle.

I was hoping you would have bent the rules just a little for me. I would be willing to drink my chosen beverage (most likely a can of fosters), out of another container if that would help, or wrap the can skillfully with the bag from the off licence so no one suspects anything.

Absolutely no way. It's not just the drinker that's liable to prosecution, it's also the coach driver. Serious consequences.
