Reading in Europe - STAR Travel

by STAR Liaison » 13 Nov 2016 18:06

Reading's first ever home game in official European competition is on Weds 23 November KO 7pm - and STAR is organising coach travel to get supporters there.

To a HOME game?

Yes, our Under 23s are taking on the scions of eight times Spanish champions, Athletic Bilbao, in the sylvan setting of Adams Park, Wycombe. This quiet and remote valley in the Chilterns is not the easiest to get to by public transport from Reading so for members wanting to be part of this historic occasion STAR is putting on a coach.

Departs Madstad 5pm. Fare £10.

You can book at STAR Base on Tues 15 Nov (7,30-9pm) or before / after the match v Burton on Sat 19th Nov.

This is a Group Stage match and the other teams in the group are Hertha Berlin and Everton.

Out of curiosity, did/do STAR have a plan of action if the first team made it into a European competition? - I.E organising flights/hotels/transport etc?

Not that I'm aware of.

We are running a three day / two nights trip next summer involving ferry / coach / hotels to WW1 and WWII battlefields in France to pay respects to Reading players who fell in those conflicts. It will be the third such trip we've organised.

Azerbijan Albion away in the Europa League might be a different kettle of fish, though.

Has Colin got his commercial pilot's licence yet? Need to be ready once this new regime hits the PL or lifts the FA Cup.
