Brentford (A) Coaches

by The Reverend » 10 Sep 2017 23:46

Just reading up on the Waterloo fun and games. Wish I'd known earlier.

Any chance STAR adding a last minute coach?

Bit late as we'd have virtually no chance to sell the tickets but I'll pass the message on.

It's just rail disruption rather than total cancellation??

This Saturday just gone I checked this site for live departure boards, everything was running on time, having said that services from Reading to Paddington are going to be disrupted this week because of rail upgrades. so the Waterloo trains may be very busy.

Too late for another coach, I'm afraid. I've done Brentford from Paddington before and it wasn't a nightmare that has stuck in my mind as a 'never again'.

No worries - as you say, not the end of the world to do it from Padders/Ealing. Taking my old man and the walk's a bit far from the tube but we can Uber it I guess

You can go to Ealing Broadway and Uber/Taxi it from there - roughly £10-15 last time I did it and it's on the Paddington line so may be a lot easier for you?

Cheers guys - talked the missus in to driving us. Hope the weather's OK as she's off to Kew Gardens while we're there.

Frustrating that one of our closest matches should be so bloody difficult to get to

Indeed.

I'm told by someone who should know that whilst you might get to Paddington by train for the game you won't get back any further than Maidenhead.
Hence the interest in going via Waterloo - which is also disrupted and liable to be overcrowded.
Advice is to check it out yourself - or join the Rev and his missus!
