Season Tick Renewal - What's Going On!

by Tilehurst Exile II » 14 Feb 2011 12:32

So now the season ticket renwewal deadline is the end of April! It used to be mid June.

Are the club trying to hold us to ransom, not really thinking about fans having to budget for their tickets.

But on the bright side, we'll get a shiney new entry card.

To sell as many season tickets as possible, before the fire sell of player's at the end of the season.

That's a bit off - paying for next year before we've even finished this year. It's like asking you to pay for your renewal of car tax 6 weeks before it's due.

I think the term "holding the supporters to ransom" is strong but warranted here.

Fair enough if you only had to pay a holding deposit now, but as RL says, it's a complete con.

Shame on you RFC.

As it goes, our season is over anyway.

The other interesting thing to note is ID cards for under-16s

As the club say
When renewing before 28th April, you are securing your price for next season, regardless of which division we find ourselves playing in

Not much to complain about really.

Interest free instalment option, improved offers, free "young royals" for the kids (I've always resented the membership fee for STHs) and a price freeze to boot.

You already know what you get for your money on the pitch and we all have a pretty good idea of what's going to happen off the pitch in the summer.

Take it or leave it.

I can see ST figures dropping a fair bit for next season.

It's a bummer tbh, because I'm not sure whether I want to renew my ST - but if we don't renew in April, we could lose our seats.

Exactly my point, they are forcing us to renew earlier and earlier year on year.

And it's all well and good saying "prices will be frozen, WHATEVER division we are in" but I'd be well bloody miffed if we renewed in April and then got relegated to Division One.

At what point will you make your mind up?

They're not exactly rushing you into anything. You've got half of February, all of March and all of April to decide.

If folk opt for the instalments they'll be paying later than ever too.

Agreed on the ST figures btw - I think the club realise that too, hence the early renewals. They need to know what the budget is like before close season.

Whilst the club talk of 4 months interest free/ 0% interest, they don't state whether there will be a set up or administration fee. If there is, then the instalment option isn't anywhere near as attractive and means that supporters will be paying extra for the privilege of 'paying later than ever too'.

Damn the club, or not, in the spring of 2005 renewals were offered whatever division RFC were in, tho when released it was unlikely to be anything other than the Championship.

Renewal rate at that time for season 2005/06 was £360 for East and LW, £300 for North adults.

16-21 was £220 East and under 16 was 100 east, so 6 years on and prices for ST has barely risen for the same level of football.

whereas the gate price has I believe gone from £17 to £23 over the same period,a 30% increase!!

Just looked at the interest free option. Seems okay, until you see the £15 administration fee for going on the interest free option.

It just seems weird that the club have suddenly done this when in the past they've been so terrible at organising the renewals.
