EPR2.0 Can anyone explain to me why a training ground needs 15 pitches?

Manchester United "only" have 14 at Carrington.

MUFC are better than us so we need more practice.

Will probably require another couple of million to get it levelled off.

Golf club members believed the golf club land was worth around £800,000, but understand Reading FC bid around £1.4 million, a sum that crushed any hopes of golfers raising a rival sum.

Lol the golf club members aint happy neither

But you are meant to wait for the training facilities to open before you start kicking a football around there.

Regarding the sale price - the land being bought covers more than just the golf course and I believe the sums involved are larger than quoted. The sellers want to sell the lot, not just the golf course, so I doubt the golf club was ever going to be able to mount a buy out just for their couple of fields....and I remember when the golf course was pretty much just two fields !

The golf course is only about half of it, I believe. Think it includes the equestrian centre (?) next door as well as other surrounding land.

If you google earth the area there appear to be two separate golf courses, one listed as Bearwood Golf Club and another around upper lake, off Bearwood Rd itself.

The surrounding land other than the equestrian centre is a bloody big lake, an old woodland(good luck cutting that down), and the college and its own sports fields.

Blimey I must be bored, if you look on the opposite side there is a large expanse of open farm land, no tree just fields, it abuts the M4 and Loaders Copse. !!!!!

Its a sign I tells you.

I did make a tentative inquiry but they were only interested in selling the whole (of the bits they were selling) not just parts of it, Don't know if the same was true for the golf club to buy.

And Harpers, there are two golf clubs but only one is under threat

Bearwood Lakes is horrendously expensive, Dinton pastures is OK but they don’t have a clubhouse since the council decided to move it from the Black Swan end :-(

They have a cafe, and the Wheelies is only a short trip.
